Stockton Calling - Tips

I posted on here a few years back for a 'must see' (non headliner) act playing Stockton Calling.
I was given The Howl & The Hum - what a tip, absolutely fantastic set at Storytellers and have seen them many times since.

So, those in the know.....who this year??

Tummyache for me. Seen them twice and will be getting a hattrick on Saturday. Missing our own Benefits and Avalanche Party for them but should be worth it.

If you like female indie/punk then Panic Shack are brilliant.

A band I was not going to see as they were not my cuppa tea was Skinny Living but a friend said they wanted to see them and I had another listen. Really good indie soul music. Great voices.

If you are there early SNAYX are excellent. They are opening the show at Arc 2 and would have been right up the top of the bill but they need to be somewhere else.

All of the bill toppers are great but clash. Opus Kink are really good as well.

I can highly recommend The Clause.

Indie guitar band but very very good at it.

If you haven't seen Avalanche Party, they are an experience.

Some really great local stuff - Finn Forster, Moonwax, Common Courtesy, Cosial, Michael Gallagher, Nice Guy are all acts I'm considering despite having seen them all a few times. Or because.

The Chase are good fun. Bit of a Ska vibe to them.

Tom A Smith is excellent.

You're going to get decent acts on in Arc 2 because it's Blaggamuffin curating. The Arc main room looks quality all day.

Ku bar looks good too. I like the sound of Blondes.

Shout outs for the acts on TKASG stage.
SNAYX - getting the party started at 2.15pm in ARC 2. Superb at last year's Twisterella.
Gone Tomorrow - melodic indie guitar all the way from Stockton. These guys are increasingly growing in stature.
lilo - will appeal to fans of First Aid Kit. Superb at last year's Twisterella.
Silvi - vocally, has a touch of Florence about her. Very much one to watch.
The Big Day - bold, brash, catchy indie, reminiscent of ace Scots, White.
The Queen's Head - London's finest. It's indie. It's dance, and with more than a touch of Dury-esque delivery. Mint.
Second Thoughts - Uber-melodic Tik Tok indie-guitar sensations.
Panic Shack - Welsh indie-punks, who are very much on the move.
Can't wait 🤘🤘🤘

Snayx were raved about to me by everyone at Twisterella and my son has The Queens Head as one of his picks of the day after he saw them at The Brudenell.

Silvi is a real talent.

Any late withdrawals

EDIT: Just noticed The Jack Foster Band have replaced Big Image at KU 7:30 - 8:00pm.
