Starmer closing wallpaper

Morning Mr Strachan;)
I have to disagree.
Given the grave crisis we are in and the number of families and young people in Hartlepool who are looking at a bleak future - they need hope for the future and leadership.

Heres how Field Marshall Montgomery summed up "leadership":

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t Monty regarded as a bit of a disaster when it came to people leadership, he was more of a big strategy man wasn’t he?

Don’t you think people should lighten up a little?

He‘s accused of being boring and not getting stuck into Bunter and then when he does something which powerfully makes a point with one photograph he is aggressively run down by ‘life long Labour voters’ for not talking about problems which are currently easy for the Tories to blame on the pandemic.

Personally I thought it was funny, and drove the point about a spoilt, over indulgent and fiddling PM home.

You know it has drawn a lot of blood because the Tories are in a tailspin about it.

Well done Starmer, let’s have more of the same son.
Lets have a party trying to keep a roof over your head whilst losing your job.
Great.(n)

People moan about the Tories, but there has been no real opposition in this country for over 10 years. The closest we got was Nick f***ing Clegg and his bunch of sell outs. If there was a general election tomorrow the Tories would win hands down. That should tell you everything you need to know! If the opposition cleaned up their own party, got some some decent hardworking local MP's and stopped playing identity politics and silly games people would be more inclined to vote for them, including myself.

Yes but the point is that the leader of the country is spending £800 per roll on wallpaper whilst convincing people in places like Hartlepool that he is just like them.

Its a con job, Johnson is a fraud, and Labour do need to expose it.

"Regarded as..." [by whom?]
Obviously military strategists?
Churchill was "a bit of a disaster" wasnt he?
Read your history.
I’m just reading a book about D Day and the battle of Normandy, that’s the impression I get anyway, obviously I wasn’t there to witness him first hand!

A shocking lack of awareness there uncle_rico. You're slating the Labour Party for not having decent hard-working MPs which is rubbish, but by deflecting the blame for this utter chaos and corruption away from the Tory party you're helping keep them there!

Identity politics is the tool of the Tories in case you hadn't noticed given their ridiculous adoption of the Union Flag at every opportunity in order to mop up the nationalist votes! As for silly games, where do I even start - have you not been reading the news recently? The party playing games is the Tory party with their dodgy contracts to pals, donors and spaffing £200k plus up a wall when some folk can't afford to feed their kids or clothe them.

Get a grip will you and understand that by shifting the focus of your ire elsewhere you're giving the Tories free reign.

Brexit, Brexit, Brexit.....

In an election tomorrow Johnson would just say that Labour wanted to rejoin the EU and the cult would believe him.

He needs to be exposed over time for what he is, a complete con man.

I agree, but this is the time for serious, challenging, opposition and leadership.
Frankly - there isnt any right now.
Its appalling - and trips to talk about cobs and Wallpaper isnt improving the electorates faith in Starmer in the polls!

There you have it, a prime example. In far too many people's eyes Labour can do no wrong. This is the inherent problem.

The fact that they are more unelectable than the Tories, and everything they've done over the last 10 years, should really set alarm bells ringing.

I dont always agree but on this you have a good point - Labour MP`s like [former] Mr Bell and others, have for years sat on huge majorities and been the most right - wing self satisfied and complacent politicians in Parliament. Masny MPs have a silver spoon in their mouths [of all parties] and their disconnect with ordinary people is perfectly understandable.
"They should tell you everything you need to know" - exactly! Leadership! Policies! What do we want and how do we intend to achieve it!.
Spot on.

Indeed he does. Not to mention Hanc0ck, Williamson, Patel etc etc.

But they are still more electable than what Labour have to offer right now.

At what point have I said Labour can do no wrong? However you're blindly shifting the blame when regardless of how poor the opposition are in your opinion, they can't possibly be worse than this corrupt regime that would be frowned upon in even some of the third world countries. Surely you see that? IF not, that is the inherent problem.

Perhaps it's not that you're one of the lost 'potentiall' Labour voters after all you're plainly a shy Tory. Defend the Tories, nothing to see here, look over there at that incompetent Labour lot. You, sir, are typical of what is so wrong in this country and allowing utter corruption to thrive at the heart of government.

I agree, but the two things are very closely linked.

Tories I know never argue on policy, it’s always on personality.

’better than Corbyn and Abbot’

‘Kneeler Starmer’

‘Tony Bliar’

Maybe it’s just time for Labour to stop being so decent and do the same?

Thats the media focus and I couldnt care what else he did.
Leadership means stepping up to the challenge and offering a concrete alternative.
Big picture.
There's the problem your relying on what the media choose to focus on.

That's it in a nutshell
