Springsteen 2024

I'm off to Wembley on Saturday, taking one of my mates who's having to "revise Springsteen" at the moment, as my wife has had to drop out as we've no one to look after our little girl.

How on earth have you managed to meet Springsteen - come on we need more info.....
Have a great night, wish I was going!
It was just kind of luck and coincidence really, I had my family over for his concerts here and we were in the same hotel as him. Before he left he came down to the lobby and signed things and took photos, there was about 10 people including me. He always comes to the same hotel here so I had a feeling there was a chance it might happen!

The one thing that I found quite shocking was the state he was in after the two shows, the first night when he got back to the hotel he was passed out and had to be carried from his car into the hotel. After the second show he walked in unaided but he looked absolutely exhausted and could barely put one foot in front of the other. He really does leave everything on the stage, if there was ever any doubt!

Nice. I've often thought about the staying in the same hotel trick, but when he's in London he stays at Claridges where you're talking a grand + a night.

Didn't realise that about the state he's in, that cant be healthy doing that for months at a time.

I went last night, my first time seeing him (fulfilling an ambition I've held since I was 15) with my Springsteen-sceptic wife.

Genuinely revelatory. Was in tears when he played Thunder Road.

Yeah my wife has never been a fan, until we saw him probably 15 years ago (maybe Wrecking Ball Tour) and now she absolutely loves the Springsteen live experience.

She's gutted she cant go tomorrow night, but our baby sitter has let us down. She also missed the SOL show as she was in Italy on business, so as I say she's gutted.

My ambition is to see him do a stadium show in some rust belt city in the US, or even NJ. In all the time I lived in the USA he didn't tour, and so I'm thinking of flying in for the weekend at one of the 2025 dates (if he announces any)

When I went to Murrayfield last year there were a couple of guys, probably in their 60s, next to me. Looked like they were twin brothers for whom Springsteen had probably soundtracked so many memories. They were absolutely loving the gig. Getting right into every song. As Thunder Road intro played out I turned to acknowledge them with a smile to see them both in floods or tears arms round each other. It was a beautiful moment.

For those that have never been it's really hard to explain just how emotional a Springsteen gig is. I've never found myself so emotional at a gig before and as @stjohn said above "I'll See You In My Dreams" absolutely finished me off!

Yeah agreed, it's difficult to explain to people who've not been or dont like Springsteen. I'd say it's more than a concert, it's an experience but that sounds a bit w@nky to me.

The lady to my right at the Sunderland concert must have been well into her 60's.
You was fairly restrained until he sang Born to run and they she just let rip, with limbs going in all directions.
Brilliant!

We’re definitely going for the Co-op arena at the Etihad. We saw the Eagles and Doobie Brothers there this year, and the acoustics are absolutely amazing.

Trying for Manchester when they're on sale. We saw him in 1985 and then again this year. Typical, you wait 39 years and then see him twice inside 12 months 😊
The Manchester one should be great mate.
If you’ve not been to the Co-op arena, the prices the concourses are very Wembleyesque. However, tucked away in a corner, the Co-op have a small store selling pasties and sandwiches at normal shop prices. You have to look for it, but it’s there.
We parked at Ashton Moss park and ride and got the tram into the venue. This is sound for after the concert as the direction going back to Ashton Moss is away from the city centre so it’s easier to get a tram. Good luck getting tickets.
