He’ll pay for it too.

the wrong side means playing mount sterling, foden or sancho BEFORE our most creative player Grealish.
Grealish offers England something no other player can offer.
carries the ball with ease and draws fouls in dangerous areas or finds a dangerous pass.
He is the 1 st name of the sheet for me
Sadly, Southgate doesn’t get his value to the 11 and never will
Jude B should also be in there alongside rice as he is the most exciting and mature young player I’ve seen in decades

I expect neither will feature from the start which is worrying about Southgate and his abilities (which I’ve always doubted)
Southgate doesn’t really learn and can’t see these gift horses of Grealish and Bellingham

if they don’t feature from the start I predict an early train home
Plus: if he goes with maguire at any point in this tournament it’ll be a huge risk and the equivalent of playing his 4th choice Centre half because he hasn’t played for 4-5 weeks and won’t be match fit when facing the best forwards who will be very sharp

Maguire might as well be sent home with Henderson
 
Jude Bellingham looked sublime for Dortmund in Europe.

He is only 17.

I think Southgate is out of his depth.
 
I agree with the OP. Southgate is going to sacrifice a forward player, probably Grealish, because he doesn’t think any of the centre backs he called up are good enough to replace Maguire.

There’s even talk of him playing Walker and Shaw in a back 3 with Stones.

Ben White has been brilliant this last season and played really well vs Romania. He should be starting at CB with Stones.

Grealish has impressed not only in the last 2 games but arguably his last 3-4. He has to start. I just don't think he will and its something that Gareth will get hammered for if we didn't turn up tomorrow.

I am fully expecting 3 CBs and both Rice and Philips starting. He doesn't trust the CBs so definitely playing 3. Also the added 'full pulis' of 2 holding CMs.

Also can see one or both of bang out of form Sterling and Rashford starting. I'm not as remotely confident as I was a month ago.

I imagine he will be hung out to dry if Grealish doesn't start and we limp to a 0-0 or lose.

Really like that side other walker (I think he always has a clanger in his locker) and would pick Reece James
Nothing to choose between Shaw and chillwell
Agree though, white took his chance and deserves to play ahead of the wooden ; mings and coady
Southgate and his assistant are just not suited to the role
It’s too big for him
Worry is we limp to the round of 16 and are deemed unlucky when we go out and the FA are taken in by Southgates eloquent explanation of his failure and keep him for Quatar and more failure
 
One of Sterling or rashford has to play for me. Look how many goals we score from Kane passing to one of them on the counter. Even more important with how Kane drops deep nowadays. If we play all 3 of mount, foden and grealish then they are all going to be coming for the ball rather than running in behind
 
For me the Chelsea lads start at full back tomorrow, having won the CL their confidence is going to be sky high! Same with Mount

More failure? You do know that failure which exists only in your pessimistic predictions isn’t real?
He’s reached the semi finals of both tournaments he’s been a manager, there’s been no failure. Especially when measured with what came before him.

if we’re rubbish in this tournament give him pelters. Until then, surely he’s deserved the right to make his own decisions.

I agree with what you're saying, but on a personal note, i hope he plays Grealish and no Sterling.
 
I can understand why he'll go with Rashford and Sterling in the attacking positions, they've got the experience and their ability isn't in question.

Given there's 5 subs available I'm not even sure the debate about his starting 11 is a valid one really, Foden, Grealish & Sancho will all get plenty of minutes and its often easier to change the game from the bench.

Even if Maguire is fit I still think he'll play a back 3, it's when England have looked at their best.

Looks a lovely team, problem is your relying on one player to score goals. The others you have picked are hardly prolific scorers and are all creators.

Maybe why southgate might look at sterling or rashford who have scored plenty of goals in the past.
 
Pretty much every journalist I've heard this week seems to think Sterling will start over Grealish. I can see Southgates thinking that we'll have less threat over the top with Grealish and Foden playing but Sterling has been awful for months now.

What happened to picking players on form?
