So who went to the pub?

I didn't bother myself but a couple of my mates went to the Rugby club on Green Lane and said it was brilliantly organised. Everyone followed the rules with no hassle at all. I'll definitely be going in next weekend 👍

I have just talked to a mate who said he had gone up to Normanby. He said the Poverina was busy with people in the beer garden, but everywhere else was OK. People just walking in and out and not overcrowded.

By not reminding people that are breaking the rules

Its a fine line on responsibility tho
Saw one lad hug a doorman at the entrance to a pub (clearly mates) the doorman said, words to the effect ‘get off yer daft booger no touching’. That was around noon tho - dread to think how that panned out.

In my local there were people meeting up for the first time sharing the same tables.
Spoke to the landlord, who I know really well, he said - its up to them really and said his guidance from the police was not to intervene

I get loads of complaints from customers complaining about people in my shops not socially distancing. I reply, nicely, talking about everyone’s responsibility and don’t put the onus on people working to keep these places open

I did not go out last night but the virtue signalling on this board by the expected people who are still in denial on this board needs to take a step back. You're sounding more and more like tyrants.
Now let's do the sensible thing and open the gyms so people can get healthy and prepare for winter.

You don't need a gym to get fit. Get off the message board and get out for a walk.

Beer in sense out. Everyone must accept that for many pubs re-opening meant a dash back to get mortal which for them was a return to normality. This is the reality most weekends in Boro and Stockton so just folk returning to type. The more considered and often more mature folk and sensible landlords tried to abide by the rules to stay as safe as possible yesterday and good luck to them but anybody who thought this would be repeated everywhere was in cloud cuckoo land. I will pop into my local Monday tea time after work as I used to and if it looks safe and well organised I will have a couple of beers to support my landlord.

Reminds me a bit of...

“Jet from Gladiators to host a millennium barn dance at Yeovil aerodrome……Properly policed. It must not, repeat not, turn into an all-night rave”

I would start by going into the pub(s) and telling them to stop selling drinks.

Surely this scenario had been covered by the police, with the guidance of our government.
Police can't do anything as even social distancing guidance isn't law. It's only guidance.

I went in the Duke William in Skelton at tea time. One way system, hand sanitizers as you walk in and at the toilets. Plenty of space, wasn’t too busy. No issue at all.

Randy do you work in restaurant? If so any spaces left for lunch lol.. 🤔

I do. We were booked out all day. Just finished cleaning down as opening hours have been reduced for the first couple of weeks. Eased back into the swing of things. Not a fan of wearing a mask in this heat so off to the shops tomorrow to buy one of those face shields instead. Different people deal with mask wearing on different ways. No chance I can wear a cloth mask in this humidity for hours at a time, it's really noticeable to me.

All in all a good day. Customers were happy and all respected the guidelines we have in place.
