imagine that Germany had landed, in England, during WW2. you would resist with all your heart, soul and know-how? and be proud to do so.

It's an interesting one that. I mean we are the Vikings as well in the NE. I wonder if we re invaded Norway after settling here or it was beforehand and they came and got their own back.

Not sure it was a score draw with the vikings. William the conqueror was from viking stock, I think cnute sat on the throne of wessex too.

I would be very surprised if most of us don't have a lot of dane, finish, norwegian and icelandic blood in us.
