Saw them live a number of times when they came back in the 80’s and they were always a great live band.

Really disappointed in Dave Hill after how he treated Don Powell after 50 years together.

Both the songs talked about Far Far Away and How Does it Feel came from the very underrated album Slade in Flame which came out with their feature film of the same name. It was a film about the rise and fall of a rock band. Whilst Slades subsequent albums weren’t quite as successful commercially their back catalogue was so strong it allowed them the longevity their friendship endured.

I was working in the club next door that night. I remember lugging my gear up the stairs while they were soundchecking with Gudbuy T'Jane. Properly loud, even through the walls!

They were massive when I started secondary school.
Everyone spending pocket on their singles and playing them at home on repeat on cheap turntables turned up to 11.
Parents driven mad all over the country.
Happy days.
A great and very British band.

Just been reading up on them. Noddy has spoken several times about how sad he is that not all the members get along anymore. Aside from the most recent rift - Dave's sacking of Don by email - Noddy said he got them all together for a lunch a few years ago, and it was 'a disaster - all the old grudges came out, who said what to who etc'.

Bands, eh!
