Six nations starts today!!

It feels a bit like we're in a mess tactically. Don't know what our best team is and can't compete with the better teams. For all the arguments about selecting foreign based players, perhaps the problem is that too many of the stars in the Premiership are not eligible to play for England.

Well that didn't go to plan did it!

I must admit, I usually watch these games with eagle eyes and love to get down into the nitty-gritty. At 17-0 down, I watched the rest of the first half over the top of my phone. Second half I felt we started more positively and had better possession but we still look as blunt as we did under Jones on the attacking front. I wasn't expecting complete change against a top team but I really thought we'd see some glimpses of positivity but I just felt that France (or more specifically, Danty!) just never let us play. I did laugh when they made a reference to Tuilagi pretending to be Danty in training leading up to the weekend! :ROFLMAO:

Not sure it deserved a boo at the end - France were incredible, borderly insane. DuPont just never seems to put a foot wrong against England. No panic button pushing me for me personally, Ireland and France's dominance did not occur overnight. Speaking of Ireland, their depth of resilience yesterday at Murrayfield was spectacular. When Van Der Flier stops smashing people in tackles and pinching balls at the break down to throwing line outs and taking the ball into mauls, you have to just be impressed!

The Tuilagi/Danty comment did make me smile when mentioned. ;)

Regarding France, you could see they have been building something special for the two previous 6 Nations and it seems to have all come together in the world cup year. They are lovely to watch and have the physical presence to mix if needed.

And what about Healy, a prop, having to be a hooker for 20 odd minutes because both hookers were injured ....... and not claim uncontested scrums !! ..... and he more than held his own !!!!

Ireland have historically failed at every World Cup so far. They have failed to make one semi final indeed. However could this be the year they make a mark. Hard to say as they have had false dawns before.

The ABs won’t be at the party this September I feel but neither will England who will go out in the QFs. As will we. I see a France v South Africa final and heartache for a Ireland once again.
