I overheard something in the November internationals that stuck with me. As much as I love Marcus Smith: in the battle of the Smiths, Marcus is brilliant at making Marcus Smith look brilliant. Fin is brilliant at making EVERYONE look brilliant. And we saw that in the second half. He came into the game and everyone seemed more comfortable with ball in hand. Great result

There's a French couple who are always next to us in the caravan and Daniele loves his sport as much as I do. It's comical when we play each other and you can hear each of us going over the top cheering.

This ….. absolutely 100%. Again, contrast that to Dupont, or indeed any of the French players (with the possible exception of N’tamack), and they all play for the team.

They may have lost today because of their handling errors, but they are just brilliant to watch ……. same old story over the years, France beating themselves

We were all saying that in the pub. I suppose the TMO must have checked it though.

Thought the scrum was the key to the win really. Too many times we've lost through poor scrumaging giving away too many penalties (thought the one we did lose was harsh), but it was very solid today.

Fin Smith was excellent but Ben Earl is a monster every game, even when where poor. Sweet revenge for him too after he wrongly cost us the game last year in Lyon.

There was a moment LCD got done for a knock on too but a French player kicked the ball. Thankfully it didn’t cost England in the end.

The one we got penalised on was simply wrong. Atonio drove in at an angle onto the hooker and also pulled down his opponent at the same time, however it was on the blind side for the ref so not spotted by him. Not sure what the Lino was looking at to not see it. On the whole though I thought the officials were very good.

And yes we were all going mad in the pub at the ‘forward passes’ for the French try but as said, the TMO must’ve checked it.

Great win and we played some really good rugby in the second half.
