According to the92Bible on twitter. No explanation or rationale given. Fair to say it’s not going down well

It's just based on trophies won, there's a logic to it, and it's one I'd probably agree with.

They might not be the best supported or current best, but they're all the clubs that have had the most success in their histories.

Huddersfield haven't won a major trophy since since 1926. They've had 4 seasons in the top flight in 66 years, have never played in europe, and have played just one fa/league cup semi final since the second world war.

I don't think people would agree with them being "THE BIGGEST SIX CLUBS" which is how they were defined.

Yes- I’ve changed post title ☺️

It's fair enough on trophies won. Good to see we have beaten 6 of those this season and come 7.10pm Saturday it will be 7.

I'd say we're bigger than Preston and Huddersfield, despite them both obviously winning more trophies than us, but I wouldn't say we're much bigger.

We've spent 61 seasons in the top flight, whereas Huddersfield have only spent 32 seasons in the top flight, and Preston 46. They've also both spent several seasons in the fourth tier.

We're 16th placed for historial average attendances, Preston are 35th and Huddersfield 38th placed. They've both never competed in Europe either.

Might as well say Huddersfield are a bigger club than West Ham if we're basing it purely on trophies won.

I disagree with the choices for League One mind. No way should Sunderland be included.

Depends how you define a big club, of those championship clubs none have won anything or played in Europe in my lifetime, surely on recent history you would class Boro among the biggest

I'd say comfortably, they've spent as much time in the bottom two leagues in the last 40 years as not. We've spent 2 seasons ever.

We've got bigger crowds comfortably, had bigger signings, more internationals, bigger name managers, won a trophy in living memory, had multiple cup finals and semi finals, a european final. In the modern era we are much 'bigger' than both. Even in this last crappy decade, I would still say we are bigger than them, and that's taking us at our low, and them at a high point.

Our fans do like to play us down. Have a bit of pride lads.

I guess the question is define 'recent'. 40 years seems a good barometer for me, the vast majority of fans will not have any strong recollection of before that era.

So since 1982:

Tier 1 League Seasons: Boro 16, Preston 0, Huddersfield 2
Tier 2 League seasons: Boro 23, Preston 18, Huddersfield 22
Tier 3 League seasons: Boro 1, Preston 17, Huddersfield 15
Tier 4 League seasons: Boro 0, Preston 5, Huddersfield 1

FA CUP:
Boro: RU: 1, SF: 2, QF: 2
Preston: not reach QF
Huddersfield: not reached QF

League Cup:
Boro: 1 Win, 2 RU, 2 SF, 1QF
Preston: not reach QF
Huddersfield: not reached QF

Europe:
Boro: RU 1, L16 1
Preston: not qualified
Huddersfield: not qualified

Record transfer:
Boro: 15m Britt Assombalonga
Preston: 2m Tom Bayliss
Huddersfield: Terrance Kongolo 17.5m

Attendance can't be arshed to check, but we're currently averaging 4k more than Huddersfield and double what Preston get.

We are miles ahead of Preston, and comfortably bigger than Huddersfield. Of course 2-3 seasons in the top flight and that can turn around. But I'd feel more confident that we can get up and stay up than them both.

Past performance means nothing today, it is irrelevant, the here and now is all that matters and we need to fight to be worthy of being a top 6 Championship club, currently we aren’t according to the league table, but we can be if the players are hungry enough.

You clearly couldn’t sleep last night. 😂

So the club who knocked Man Utd and Spurs out of the FA Cup doesn’t make the list - some list !
