Sir Lewis Hamilton

Nice to see one of our out and out left wingers supporting tax avoidance.

I assume you support Starbucks , Vodafone, Amazon , Facebook and Microsoft in their avoidance schemes.
No. You are conveniently avoiding the fact that he does pay a hefty tax bill in the UK so comparing him to any of these companies is just plain wrong.

As for being an 'out.and out left winger' why should I take that from a man who thinks Blair was to the left of Corbyn?

If you are referring to me , none. Read my posts good luck to anyone who makes a bundle, by your logic I should be jealous of Bill Gates:, as for racism quite a nasty slur but nothing surprised me on here, as fir snobbery I can't work that one out.

Yeah good post it was another quite bizarre post from a resident poster who does like to use slurs against others.

If someone dares to criticise anyone famous it’s “jealousy”.. a common comeback. Just as you might be in awe of a certain someone doesn’t mean rest of us want a life 24/7 in the spotlight. No thanks

Racism. Probably the laziest slur going. Not sure I’ve seen anyone criticising Marcus Rashford on this board so not sure why he keeps cropping up. Lewis Hamilton was named in the paradise papers and featured in a panorama documentary for avoiding 3.3M VAT on his private jet. So its no surprise he comes up, as alot of people are aware of that.

Look at the Priti Patel thread. Amount of abuse on there. So you can throw racist around as someone dares to question Lewis Hamiltons tax situation but in the same breath its not racist on the Patel thread because shes a tory?

Racism isnt a factor in either thread (i hope) but if your going throw it about lazily then comsider all threads covering BAME persons not just the ones you like

Oh come on.
We have someone (Patel) who broke the ministerial code and was a bully - according to the independent investigation.
The non independent decision maker (Johnson) says ‘nothing to see here’.

That is the only story - not race

Strange, why don't you just address me directly instead of referring to me in the 3rd party?
Why don't you block me again if you don't agree with my posts?

Show me any example where I have used a slur against others.

And what is a 'resident poster', surely I'm just someone who posts on this board on occasion?

I am not in awe of Lewis Hamilton and neither is he my idol, I just appreciate sportspeople who are very good at what they do and it's a bonus if they're British and participate in a sport I'm interested in.

The colonial Sir ! Doesn't match his new image. I thought all this Sir Lord lark was being disbanded after SIR Jimmy Saville a Tory favourite and also the castration and assisted murder of Alan Turing ?

As I have said previously in the thread I’m not into F1 but obviously keep up to date with the news on Hamilton etc and what he has won. Also read the threads on here about him. What I would like to know is how come most threads turn into a bashing about him in regards to paying tax?

Looking at the abuse he gets, bordering on hatred from some people I think it certainly has a racial undertone to it all personally. Never known a F1 driver get that level of abuse from fans of the sport.

Regardless of if you like him or not he will become one of the greatest British sports people of all time when he retires, for that alone he deserves this recognition.

Its also admirable that he uses his voice from being in this position to speak out about inequalities that exist. Too many in his position turn a blind eye to these things to avoid the controversy

He doesn't need a Sir from the Death Austerity party to speak up for people.ALthough their voters would be knocking one out if he did, better to stay free from contamination and speak from his heart.

He probably pays more UK tax than everyone commenting on this thread combined....and some still say it isn't enough?

If anyone could getting around paying less tax, then surely they would?

I don't understand some of the hatred and negative comments towards him.

He's one of the greatest British sportsmen of all time and we as a nation should be proud of what he's achieved in the sport.

Anyone putting money into an ISA tax free scheme but calling out Lewis is a hypocrite. Anyone who has ever received cash that should have have been taxable but failed to declare it is a hypocrite. Anyone who enjoyed a capital gains windfall but failed to declare it is also a hypocrite. Anyone forming a company and putting his wife/mother/son/pet dog as an employee in order to reduce their tax bill is a hypocrite. Anyone donating to a charity and using it to reduce their tax bill is a hypocrite. Anyone who has been/is an Expat, paying local tax but nothing to the UK is a hypocrite.

Anyone denigrating Lewis Hamilton simply because of his skin colour is vile.

As an aside from skin colour, the English people have this really annoying trait of building people up and then simply cannot wait to knock them down again.

Most would agree he seems a canny bloke, I like to see him stay away from any badges given out by the Govt, it lessens the importance of what he has to say regarding his views on society.

I told you before I am way to the left of you. Tax avoidance is wrong, even if it brings employment. You simply say what the 'like' club wants.

Tell me one yes one left wing policy that Corbyn managed to achieve.

Blair; highest tax take, low unemployment , new schools and hospitals, more doctors nurses and health staff, .....

Big faults; not stopping sale if council houses, opening up gambling, Iraq.

Corbyn s achievements ; er

Utter dross. There are massive differences between paying no tax in Monaco and using an ISA.

This is desperate stuff, why can't we all domicile in say Monaco and avoid tax. One rule for the rich. The irony is it's the pretend left who support tax avoidance.

I have zero hatred to him, I don't know him. I can't think of anyone I hate, including Trump.
