Sheffield Utd v Blackburn

At least 1 non PL side in the semis

Came on as a sub and scored twice in the last 10 minutes after Bernie had given us the lead. Cod roe everywhere!!

I really enjoy the FA cup because of results like this.
I don't believe this will distract them from the league.
If anything it will restore some belief.
I still think we have a team that could catch them.
Looking forward to the rest of the season.
 
Its not so much the distraction, its playing mid week - weekend - mid week that affects performances - as we found out in 1997.

Injuries/knocks have less time to heal and are picked up more. More cards are picked up too. Fans need more cash to get to games. I remember in 2006 we could not sell out our allocation for a FAC semi final at Villa Park, fans were running out of cash after UEFA games.

I do think top 2 is still very much a long shot, but not quite as long as it was.

Totally agree…sheff utd always fail to impress me when watching them. Rag tag bunch with two stand outs
Berge and nydiaye.
All these extra games will take their toll on league form, it’s inevitable, especially now they will consider themselves favourites for getting to the semi final vs Blackburn at home.
Takes some of their focus away from the league which is perfect because the championship takes no prisoners and if you’re not on it every game then defeat beckons….
 
We knocked Tottenham out of the cup on the exact same day last year and then the wheels seemingly fell off for us so good luck to Sheff Utd but hopefully they now suffer a similar fate to us UTB

The optimist in me is hoping this is the case! Well happy with them drawing each other last night. Surely both will see it as such a winnable tie that they simply have to put full focus on it and go full strength.
