Randy So you are saying she may have been groomed or she just upped and went of her own accord. You have no evidence it was the latter so how do you suggest we find out?

No I'm saying the automatic response is "oh she must have been groomed, it couldn't be her fault because of her age" doesn't wash with me.

How do we find out? Well there will be experts in that field. If it turns out she was groomed? What does that change? Still a terrorist group sympathiser who like I said earlier hasn't shown any remorse for her actions.
The video interview from last year I think, was absolutely chilling. The look on her face and her general body language was disturbing.
 
bit of devils advocate here but, if we rightly say that girls that were abused by grooming gangs couldn't give consent as they were under age wouldnt that rule apply to her grooming?
shes british, if we want to deport terrorists to their country then we have to deal with our home grown terrorists

Well there are a couple of points here:
1) What can the experts in the field do without access to her?
2) What does it prove? It proved that she wasn't a terrorist sympathiser until she was brainwashed. "The look on her face and her general body language was disturbing." You sound like you know your stuff, do brainwashed people show remorse?

I don't for one minute believe that you think groomers don't exist in this country, so what makes you believe that in this particular case they were not involved. Is there any evidence of this?
 
This thread is pretty disheartening. Here is a girl who was generally disillusioned with her life and looked somewhere for some comfort. Unfortunately, that led to grooming, radicalisation and hatred, which led to Syria. She's made some poor decisions, but many would argue that she wasn't doing it while in a correct mental state. Everyone here stating 'good riddance' etc. What does that say to her? Britain doesn't want me, maybe the terrorists were right, just re-enforcing her position.

There's a pretty compelling argument that with proper support for teens, better welfare checks and improved policing against grooming gangs, she could return to Britain as a citizen and enjoy her life here that so many of us advocate as a welcoming and tolerant society. It saddens me to think this attitude of 'sod 'em' is rife. Imagine as a parent hearing this and thinking, I'm British, been here all my life and all of a sudden I'm an outcast along with my children. No offer of support, just a black and white, one of us or one of 'them'.

Bad times.
 
She's scum and should be in prison.

But she's British scum and we shouldn't be foisting the responsibility of punishment on to other nations.

You lot would be a lot more sympathetic if she was white - and that's a fact.

Groomers do exist in this country but you aren't listening to me.
Why couldn't she have been a terrorist sympathiser before she decided to upsticks and flee abroad? Kids have access to the news, the internet etc, they are also smarter than you seem to be giving them credit for. Brainwashed? So why did she suddenly decide she wanted to return to normality if she was brainwashed to follow 'the cause'? Oh that's because ISIS were getting their backsides handed to them on a plate and were getting boxed in from all angles.
That tells me it's conscious decision to leave and people who are brainwashed don't make conscious decisions do they?

And you would be the first one moaning why the government allowed terrorists back into the country who then go on to commit atrocious acts.
