The money thing is not that great - they owe nearly as much already, because they have not fulfilled the contract. If they don't fulfill all of the fixtures, they owe tens to hundreds of millions to broadcasters.
They'd open themselves up to law suits from the clubs who are relegated/denied promotion/miss out on Europe.
The only reason they're worried about the brand is money too.
I don't think they're desperate to retain foreign fans because of their insight in to the game.
I don't think they're trying to rush it back because people are so interested in the relegation battle and the fight for 7th.
Not immediately but I fee once it is safe to do so this season should be completed. It seems ridiculous to me to put so much effort into three quarters of a season just to abandon it. My logic suggests that when football can return it should do so by completing unfinished business.Smalltown - Can you please explain to me why you feel there is a need to play football, because at the moment I just don't get it.
Whatever happens, Liverpool’s title will be tainted
Why?Maybe just restart the premier League then.
Why, what’s so special about the premier league
I was reading on the BBC sports page that the PL have already been told they might have to pay back to broadcasters a figure of £340m even if the season is completed. This is due to matches taken place without fans in the stadium and games played at different times. If they don't fulfill all of the fixtures, they owe tens to hundreds of millions to broadcasters.

Unfortunately I do£340m loss for completing the season v £1 billion if they don’t. Think they will plough on.
Nope, I still think it should be finished if safe to do so.Has anyone’s opinion on restarting the season (minus the fans) changed in anyway after watching the reality today from the Bundesliga?
What vital resources? Someone once described sport as the most important unimportant thing. No, I still think it should be scrapped and the vital resources used to for more deserving professions.
