Scathing attack on government Covid-19 response

Compared to other countries in Europe our rate hasn't rocketed, now whether this is because of what the government is doing or in spite of what the government is doing will be seen. But it does seem to me that this article is about political point scoring which is very easy when you are not the ones making the decisions.

My opinion for what its worth, we are taking the correct approach, but I suppose time will tell.
 
When our hospitals are at breaking point because of inactivity on the issue, it’ll be a national disgrace if it comes to that

Hope the government is proved right, but it seems they want immunity rather than to protect life
 
I thought that press conference was as open and honest as I’ve seen in along time. It’s not usual from the promise minister to openly state that people will lose family members during this epidemic.

I’ll say again I’m not sure what more the govt can say.

We need to end this political point scoring and we all need to Unite in this fight we are all facing.

Sounds like the Brexit argument to me. We just need to believe a bit harder. When you look at and track the virus progress in all the other countries and factor in the measurements taken in those countries it seems to me that this ‘herd immunity’ policy is wholly inadequate and quite possibly ideological in nature.

Time will tell but these seem to be economic and political decisions rather than for the protection of the public.

It’s not political point scoring if you believe enough isn’t being done.

I’d love to know how the can claim 5-10k cases already too, especially given South Korea’s testing regime and being right in the middle of those figures. Are they really saying 75,000-150,000 cases in South Korea?

That much is true.

However, the vast majority of doctors/health experts/virologists/epidemiologists who I've seen interviewed across various platforms seem to broadly agree with what the Govt are doing.
 
France has tonight followed Ireland in closing all schools and universities from monday. Great, I'll get to see more of my dear lady.
