Saltburn

I usually visit Helmsley whenever I come back north.

Can’t think of a memorable cafe there. All art galleries and gift shops innit.

Probably won’t bother next time - don’t wanna risk running into the grumpy bollox OP.

I will definitely visit Saltburn though.

Rapps was open today, 2 minutes from Signals. On my hunt for a spot of lunch I walked down through the square, past the station and Sainsburys and onto Milton Street, I passed close to several eateries including Chocolinis, That Cafe, The Sitting Room, Signals (yes, closed), Real Meals, Taste.

Not sure where you were looking but all bang in the town centre and I spotted them and I’ve not lived here for 20+ years so I hardly know the places to go anymore. I’m sure most of those serve tea and coffee.

Rapps is my favourite and a regular haunt of mine. It’s been lovely seeing people able to sit outside on Milton Street at the various bars and cafes over the past couple of years and it’s a shame that they’ve not been allowed to carry it on this Summer (altho I appreciate the neighbouring residents may disagree).

Rapps is really good, had a great meal and noticed loads of new bars in the area too. I was always in the Marine and Back Alex back when I lived here permanently, I’ll have to check out the new places while I’m temporarily here again 👍🏻

As a resident of another seaside town (not Saltburn, which incidentally I think is a wonderful place) that is much maligned by visitors who make negative comments after a visit , I often think, “well who the **** invited you”

Saltburn is lovely.

If I ever get to move back north I would move there in a heartbeat.

Strange take but each to their own
If I could afford it I would move there too mate and I'm an ex Marske lad.

Alessi's is one of my favourite restaurants I've ever eaten in. The food is always superb as are the waiting staff. Brilliantly priced too.

I said to the wife recently if I could live anywhere that would be realistic it would be Saltburn. Fell in love with the place over the last few years.

visited 3 years ago when back in Uk for my daughters wedding and had a great day along the beach, pier and the pub on the beach ... went to the top and had a look around, it was sunday in October and was quiet but did see 6 or 7 eateries

We live near Helmsley. There are shed loads of cafe's there. No need to go searching for them.
I'm not a fan of Helmsley. Nowhere to park, a few over priced cafes and very little to do. I like the castle but generally a **** day out

Love Saltburn, I mean what's not to like there? There's a few caf's as well as bakeries, such a pleasant place to hang out, not to mention the views and friendly people. I go there every year.

Saltburn is one of the best places to surf in the whole country. I bet Helmsley can't lay claim to that!
