How do we know he fell out with anyone? You fall out with everyone in your company you can expect to be sacked. No sympathy what so ever for wilder a deeply arrogant petty individual who blamed everyone but himself. I would put my hat on he will be a failure in every job he takes after Sheffield United. Delighted he has gone but not half as much as the playing staff are. Good riddance Chris
You call out players publicly the cowardly way he did it's going to be worse in the dressing room. Well done Steve Gibson no manager is bigger than the club except in Chris wilders mind. How do we know he fell out with anyone?
Certain players deserve it this is one of the lowest quality spineless squads we have had in a long time. I don’t think changing manager will fix any of thisYou call out players publicly the cowardly way he did it's going to be worse in the dressing room. Your rather naive if you think Gibson will change it at the top he won't. Wilder was toxic he needed to goClub are a joke! Top tier need changing, but at least the morons on here will be happy with Cattermole picking the team! He can pick a fight, that’s it, but he’s one of our own
Pretty much sums up my feelings too. In 45 years of following the Boro, I only ever wanted to see 3 managers sacked; Southgate in January 2009 when it was clear he was taking us down, Strachan for the pigs ear he made of everything, and Woodgate when we were heading for a relegation scrap. Wilder was the 4th. I never took to him and his criticism of the players while not acknowledging his own mistakes made him unlikeable as a fan, so god knows what the players thought of him.Liked the idea of what Wilder might do, but never really warmed to him - think his man management is appalling - and as things went on, his approach looked more like dogma than innovation. Sorry it didn't work, but not fussed, but what a waste of time...
Wilder called players out publically after we lost at home to Hull last season, when we still had a chance of making the play-offs. Very foolish.Certain players deserve it this is one of the lowest quality spineless squads we have had in a long time. I don’t think changing manager will fix any of this
Afternoon StevieAfternoon Chris.
Yes I agree but as you say it all turned snd never came back.It all just feels like such a lost opportunity for both parties. Chris Wilder had the team 'at it' the second he walked thru' the door. Our performances improved markedly, the wins v Forest and Derby, the Cup wins at Old Trafford but particularly v Spurs - what a night.
Then came Burnleygate and we all know what's happened since in terms of results.
CW wasn't backed in that fiasco of a transfer window, most likely as Gibson had his cards marked.
I just hope we have a proper strategic plan in place to push on (there's a first time for everything!).

Liked the idea of what Wilder might do, but never really warmed to him
