Sack Wilder?

I like Chris Wilder don't get me wrong but like many have suggested on here, since the Burnley managerial speculation last season you could say our form has been relegation material. You have to wonder if the players are forcing Gibbo's hand here as they're playing like they don't care and they only turn it up when they're losing. I saw Wilder on the sidelines tonight looking like he's fed up, even his coaching staff looked very isolated from him. There's no high fives, no willingness to team up on decisions-- something is not quite right here. I'm even surprised that Wilder was on the short list for the Bournemouth job which tells me that sentiment is amongst the bookies that he wants to leave. Ok there's speculation all the time about managers but Wilder's name seems to be one constant in the bookies odds when a job becomes available. As far as sacking Wilder I'm not too sure if it would solve anything other than making the players even more unsettled and disappointed about their situation with the club. However, SG probably should have let him go when Burnley wanted a new coach as it's been downhill since that moment.

He needs to go for me. Players look completely short of confidence, there’s no structure defensively at all. With the ball we look ok in spells but midfield million miles away and we should be playing two up top every single game.

It depends how often we continue going 3-0 down in the first 45 min . The manager is no mug yet doesn’t appear to play his best side . Strange one . But we’ve been in the prem once in over a decade, chopping and changing managers doesn’t seem to of helped maybe Hel get it right before his contract ends .

The issues run deeper.

How many millions have been spent on the likes of Payero, Forss and Hoppe over the last couple of years?

Who is signing off on these? Are the managers having any say or are they “gifts” from Gibbo etc.

Why, for many years now, have we struggled to score goals and had little to no creativity from midfield? Why has this not been rectified?

The issues predate Wilder and will continue unless addressed asap (I’d thought this was what Scott was doing but not looking great so far)

Wilder fan and sacking don’t belong in the same sentence

If you want him sacked you are by definition not a fan

Part of my issue is that Wilder doesn’t seem to be able to identify a good player though. He didn’t play Balogun (who is now scoring regularly), loved Connolly (who isn’t) spent big money on McBurnie and Brewster who are both shocking. So what’s to say Payero wasn’t good enough?

Because if it’s his opinion, I’m not sure I trust it.

No, he's got calibre. He needs time to sort this out, but honestly, I just watched the highlights and couldn't believe what I watched in that first half. Dare I say it, we are missing Lenihan.

Got soled down the river in the transfer market. We are once again unbalanced and brought players in who don't fit the philosophy of the manager or the formation he wants to play. That said this season so far isn't good enough, we still have a better squad than most and his inability to make changes in the game costs us.

I think Wilder is totally ***ed off with the club for not getting all the players in he wanted - i do feel sorry for him in that respect, however i think he’s made some remarks that won’t have gone down very well with the players i.e. we’re not good enough in certain areas. Maybe he has lost the dressing room a bit and some of the team would be happy to see him go. It wouldn’t be the first time a team has effectively downed tools to get rid of a manager, it certainly looked like the players weren’t putting a shift in during that first half. If he’s going to go I’d rather it was sooner than later - who we’d get in is another matter
