Ryan Giles signs..

Permanently for Hull. There goes that rumour 😂
He was always due to sign permanently for Hull as it was all agreed when they signed him on loan. Not sure this'll stop the speculation as the rumours were always they didn't really want him permanently and were looking to offload him quickly either permanently or on loan.

I'm sure it won't be the last we hear of the speculation of him joining us this close season.

Well they've triggered their option. That doesn't necessarily mean they won't sell him, though probably unlikely if it wasn't a compulsory option.

Given that this was most likely part of the loan arrangement I'm not sure it's such a shock?

I actually think it makes it more likely we'll be able to loan him next season.
Judging by the reaction this is a very popular move amongst hull fans, putting lie to the idea that they didn't actually want to sign him as he wasn't any good for them. No chance we will be able to do a deal.
Hull have also stated that they triggered an option, rather than it being an obligation to buy.

Not sure I see it like that.

We obviously saw that there was a chance of getting him back here, so it's almost certain we know the terms of the loan and specifically how it dealt with Hull signing him permanently.

He was in and out of the team last season and £4m is a big chunk of money for a club thats struggling to work within PSR.

As for them " triggering" the deal, we have no idea what nuances or consequences there is/was around that.

I'm pretty sure that Hull would have walked away had they been able to ie cost free.

Edit; I'd also add that the transfer fee at it's most expensive will be linked to clauses being triggered, so it would make some sense for Hull to try and move him in asap.

There's zero chance we'll pay big money for him, but a loan fee and his wages off their books could make sense for both clubs and the player.

He seemed to have had the same impact at Luton and Hull that Luke Thomas had here. Bonus being Hull have had to spend a third of their transfer budget on a player who couldn’t get into their team last year. I would place him ahead of Engel going forward, not as a defender but I think Bangura could have a higher ceiling. As always though at the minute I am more than happy letting Carrick and the recruitment guys crack on and whoever they think will move us forward I will more than accept in the shirt.

I hope Isiah jones tears him a new **** next year in both games, his defensive attributes are average , he a converted winger with an exceptional crossing ability

Aside from that, no hard feelings Ryan, and good luck

Could end up being one of them.
Wolves signed Afobe permanently at the end of his loan in 2018 and then almost immediately sold him.

Not that I think we should be spending more money on a left back.
