Rudy Gestede

8 in 10 against Forest apparently.

He was similarly excellent against Preston but was then absolutely shocking against Fulham.

Got to start against Charlton though.

I thought he was excellent last night. I have been his biggest critic but I thought he did his job very well. Won almost everything, held the ball up, brought people in and scored a good goal.

completely agree. A good performance not quite as good as he was at Preston but still very good nonetheless. I got a couple of people questioning why I selected him for my team before the game which I understand but I had a feeling he was gonna score and play well.

Keep him in for Charlton and see what he can do again

I thought he was pretty poor to be honest aside his goal.
I'll admit he wasn't as bad as my immediate reaction yesterday, he had a couple of decent flick one etc BUT he just isn't and wasn't sticky enough. Too many times the ball just bounced off in a random direction when it was near him be that off his foot or head and when you need to take some pressure off it's crucial that doesn't happen.
That said if he can score a couple of goals to keep us up this season then I will forgive him for being terrible, earning a fortune and just be happy he's no longer at the club.

6 goals in his last 61 games. We will get nowhere with a main striker having a 1 in 10 ratio.

Not suggesting he is the long term or even the immediate solution but we are now in a 10 game survival mode and he caused more problems last night than any of our strikers have for weeks. He scored, he won headers, he held the ball to get us up the pitch and they couldn't really handle him. Something needs to change for us to have a chance of staying up. Personally I'd do as 1finny suggested above and play Gestede and Britt. We need goals.

We've been badly exposed in midfield with two strikers, particularly Barnsley. Keep with the Gestede / Wing combination which adds some midfield presence as well as a good support to Gestede.

We get exposed in midfield whenever we don't play 5 of them, it has to be 4-5-1 for me. Not really bothered about the combinations but it has to be that system. Although I'd prefer if Clayton didn't play anymore.

Thought he did pretty well as a one off but the commentators left me aghast with comments such as, "the six yard box is his office" FFS!!! Who ever recruited him should have been fired when they made the suggestion or at least have been sent to a psychiatrist. All that money on his fee and wages!!

When Roberts is back I think our team should be this

Pears

Spence
Shotton
Moukoudi
Johnson

Howson
Saville

Roberts
Wing
Coulson

Gestede

I wouldn't pick this team. I'd have 4 solid citizens at the back if possible, Clayton holding with Howson next to him, Roberts behind Gestede and Spence and Coulson pushed up into a front 3/midfield 5.
