When you think of some of the sporting greats he was being compared against last night you can only speculate why that might be.

Well you're right. The show has history though. Its not big now but it was in years gone by. Only relatively recently has it been a phone in vote.Why does it matter that he's not won a phone in popularity contest when he's at the absolute top of the game he loves ?
Never got this obsession with SPOTY, and peoples first thought when someone does something amazing is whether they'll win this joke of a competition - I wonder if sport personalities actually care about it as much as the public seem to?
