The memories this picture brings back!! Loved the horse ride just inside the shop where you had to shoot the Indians down...actually has made 47 year old me a tad emotional remembering

I've never heard of Leslie Brown
I also remember the day that Big Trak was on display in the store doing it's little demo and firing phasers, and was blown away by how sophisticated it was for a toy. I never did get one
Same here.I used to love looking in the "window" displays in the inset glass cabinets halfway up the stairs.

Was Leslie Brown's in Stockton?
Wow!
Leslie Brown was the best ever! Die cast Battle of Britain Spitfires and Stukas. Captain Scarlett SPV, UFO Interceptor. And Airfix - so much Airfix!!
Yes. Yes it was.Was Leslie Brown's in Stockton?
If so, maybe this is why I haven't heard of it.
As a child in the 60's & 70's there were plenty of toy shops on the Yorkshire side of the river to keep us interested and there was no need to venture into the deepest darkest Durham.Yes. Yes it was.
The movie was released late December 1977. I don't think the toys hit the UK until April 1978 due to manufacturing delays. I still have a few at home now.I remember drooling over those Star Wars displays as a kid, just after seeing it at the Odeon in 1977.
That shop was my favourite place, especially when I got a treat of an Airfix aeroplane kit.
