Respect

time and a place for free speech?

“free speech” ffs. The last bastion of Tommy Robinson and co

Free speech comes with responsibility. A responsibility to be respectful, to not deliberately offend, to be courteous, to be mindful of a “time and a place” for airing views

These were values instilled in me at primary school when I was 6 years old, have things changed?

you're right. I was asking Kosovo for clarification if they were saying there was a time and a place for free speech and yesterday wasn't it.

Pretty sure Yaxley-Lennon is a frothing royalist. I am not and haven't said anything offensive.

I'm sorry. I was asking for clarification on what kosovo said to redblood. You've piled in and you may have misunderstood what i was asking of someone else. or you may have understood and are looking for confrontation. I don't know or care. First time I've been accused of sharing any views with Yaxley-Lennon though. For the laugh at least, thanks.

Dignity, just act with dignity

Say what you like but just do it with dignity

To be honest though it`s not been as bad as when Thatcher died

I believe you were saying free speech is free speech, and the time / place is irrelevant.

Hence I was explaining why I hate the “free speech” cry from people who think it just means they can say whatever they want whenever they want.

I wasn’t comparing your views to Tommy Robinson at all, just that it is a favourite argument of his too

Yes but Borolad doesn’t help himself by posting facts, like the one on Nosmo’s post about leaving the board for a while….

I mean why would you post that???
I've seen both quotes you've posted about Borolad and both of them to me are tongue in cheek harmless remarks, not digs. I think you are taking them too seriously.

I can't disagree with any of that.
Like yourself, I was brought up with similar values and I meant what I said when I thought it would've been nice for people
to have simply said RIP Elizabeth.

Here in Oz we have a certain Pauline Hanson the leader and founder of One Nation, a ultranationalist right wing populist party
who sadly represents Qld the state that I reside in.
I choke and cringe at the bile that comes out of her mouth, but, we live in a democracy and she has the right to speak her mind.

We should be sympathetic and respect the fact that people from all over the globe will not have the same feelings towards our
queen or monarchy that many of us do and there will be differing and critical views.

It should be remembered that many peoples countries had their sacred ground penetrated by the British flag in the name of the king.
Many of these peoples were also shackled, enslaved, imprisoned and murdered in the name of the monarchy.

I think that we would be more understanding had we, ourselves, encountered such brutality and wonder if we would feel the need
or responsibility to be respectful and to leave it for another time and place had we done so?

At what date can we "Republicans" speak respectively freely?
If it were up to me, then it would be after you’ve been back to primary school learned some basic manners and how to speak respectfully rather than spouting attention seeking bile.

Now don’t get me wrong, most republicans already have manners and are respectful, alas from the way you posted that statement, you clearly do not.

"Can we have a conversation about the future of the monarchy?"

"No! Shut up and stop spouting bile, Snowflake!"
I’m not that bad Harry, just don’t like attention seeking prat’s which from the way he worded that he clearly is.

I have no issue at all with discussions about the monarchy, Id have no problem if the public (not government) were allowed a vote to disband it and it went. I am not a rolayalist in the slightest.
