Renewal Announcement - 30th March Deadline

It will be interesting. The financial squeeze on the Championship is maybe worse than any other league.
The relegated clubs get paid £100m. Middlesbrough gets £8, from the Premier pot. Obviously the relegated clubs face a daunting task of balancing the books but they are still able to blow everyone else out of the water. A club like Ipswich gives everyone hope. But they are dropping fast.
Several clubs are rumoured to be in tricky situations financially. One is unofficially bust. How on earth do you chase the relegated clubs? I suppose you hope that one or two implode.
I presume you mean more than £8!

If he is younger than 21 then he will not be getting the National Minimum Wage. Hence the reason why a lot of the bar staff are young.
That and the fact that they only get work once a fortnight - and face a furious 15 minutes before kick off and 15 mins at half time.

I didn't agree with the axing of Half Season Tickets - neither did the Forum and we tried to argue the case. Unsuccessfully, Although numbers buying were never that high. But surely every buy is a big positive.
However, Membership take up has been really high. A real success. This is again really good to hear because it comes only after we have all pressed for memberships to be reintroduced for many years.
You said you do not have a season ticket any longer, would membership be something you might consider?
No but I don't have a season ticket because I don't live locally, not because I don't want to go. If I lived close enough I'd have a season ticket.

I'm surprised the membership is doing well. It takes 6 games to break even. You have to spend over £200 before you get your money back on it.

On LinkedIn MFC say they have between 201 and 500 employees.

For worst case scenario let's go with the 500 figure. Minimum wage is going up £1.02 per hour, for a 40 hour week that is £40.80 per employee. 500 employees at £40.80 per week is £20,400 per week increase.

Annual increase of £1,060,800.

Make of that what you will.....

Most won't work 40 hours...hospitality, matchday bars, stewards etc

It’s probably worth fact checking the statement.

How much have business rates gone up?
How much will min wage increase cost them?

A 10% increase in ST prices gets them about £3m I think.

My hypothesis would be there is a significant chunk of money left over.

Edit
Ignore - my numbers are way off

The difference between early bird prices and a new season ticket is massive.
Would it bother any season ticket holders on here if the club just said it was the same price with say £10 extra admin charge ?
Could help get a lot more ST holders if people didn't feel they were being ripped off.
Surely ST holders would rather see the club get more ST holders than have some feeling they are being rewarded for loyalty. They will still be paying the same.
I agree, I have been fortunate enough to be able to afford a season ticket for many seasons, starting in the Ayresome Park days. It wouldn't bother me if they sold season tickets to new applicants at the same price I pay. Because at the end of the day we are all watching the same game and supporting our team. There shouldn't be such a massive difference for people wanting to get a season ticket now so make it the same price across the board. Additionally the walk up prices as we well know are ridiculous and they need looking at as well.

Steve Gibson will not be talking about gross figures here but the actual £1/2 million or whatever extra they get to spend.

The ‘extra money’ from cup games.. selling Morgan Rogers at the drop of a hat.. selling Matt Crooks with no replacement.

All that.. the club bragging about how much money they are making in players.. and then just dropping a price increase with a PAY IT NOW.. JUST PAY IT kind of attitude..

Pfft.. fook that.. throwing in the towel half way through the season.. it stinks!

Given the amount of money this club has wasted over the last 10 or so years, how dare they blame young part time workers on minimum wage. Most of whom have to deal with idiots every time they're at work.

Its absolutely abhorrent, and just when I though they couldn't get any lower they go and do this. Its disgusting.

I was giving serious consideration to not bothering next season, but after the last two days my mind is made up, they can go fcuk themselves.

Mine hasn’t gone up 10% - £590 to £620 so a fraction over 5%

It looks like the minimum wage has gone up more than 5% so perhaps we are not doing that bad

Paddy McNair’s weekly wage then for sitting on the bench!

How can that possibly be?
The ticket revenue was £6.5m form 19k SC holders inc VAT.
10% would yield £650k if it was across the board for simplicity and everyone renewed,
That is including VAT.

In the North and South stand:
Over-65s have went up 11.4%.
18-21s have went up 10.5%.
Under 18s have went up 10.8%.

Given the club were apparently complaining that there was a majority of of season ticket holders that are concessions, then there's a large very large number that have went up over 10%.
