Renewal Announcement - 30th March Deadline

This has got me even more angry than i was.

How they have the brass neck to blame a rise in the minimum wage they are having to legally pay is a disgrace...lets face it... to most of the wage earners in the club it will be less than a fiver a week increase.

Gibbo you have lost the plot.
Especially when there's bang average players in the squad earning silly money in comparison.

Whilst its great an extension has been made i think fans should stick together the club should not be off the hook for the completely unreasonable ticket pricing anounced for next season . expensive u18s tickets outside of grf, ridiculous walk up prices, unjustifiable premium for new season ticket holders. I expect the QA session to be a soft soap pr excericse from the club to justify these unreasonable hikes.

Well said that man 🫡

It won't be. But I really hope afterwards we can each have a better understanding. Steve Gibson of what the fans are thinking and the fans of where the decisions are coming from.

We all laughed at the Geordies when they did their boycoutt but something like that is the only way that Gibson will actually get the message. The fans forum, Red Faction, 12th Man etc are our only collective groups and they should be leading on a boycott. A boycott of the Early Bird deadline, articles in the press and a visible protest somewhere. If those groups got together to make a point and refused to buy a ticket then it would be significant and Gibson would get the message in time to do something about it immediately. Him doing a Q&A, after people have already renewed, will not save anyone any money this season.

I suspect what will happen is a lot of complaining but a lot of people begrudgingly renewing and then us just having a smaller number of season ticket holders this year. Gibson can measure the impact by looking at the size of the crowd but it will be too late to do anything about it even if he wanted to and then the cycle will repeat next season.

Gibson knows there are a core of people who will always buy a ticket no matter what and he'll bleed them dry as much as he can because he values their money above their support. Not wanting to single you out Rob because there are plenty of people that would be the same but Gibson knows that people like you will buy a ticket guaranteed, even if he doubled the price. As a businessman he has no incentive to reduce the costs for that group of people because they will definitely pay. His model is to lock those people in by saying if you don't pay the Early Bird price we're going to make it prohibitively expensive for you to rejoin. He's taking the ****.
