Red Faction - Offered Free ST's...

I have an absolute total denial of this both from RF and from SG.
I suppose in a strange way Red Faction might have stood to gain by the story being spread around that they had turned down an offer - but they are absolutely clear that never was any free ticket offer made.

Via the football club Steve Gibson contacted to make it clear that at no time did he make any such offer to Red Faction.
Completely untrue that Red Faction get any free tickets now or were offered any in the future. They want to be completely clear about this.

How can you know 100% if you are not in Red Faction and were not present?

Isn't it more likely that the person who told you was getting a bit full of themselves for being at such a widely discussed meeting and has gone a bit far with their story?

Good to get clarity, I did find it hard to believe. I was worried it could be true though, as Steve does seem to have lost the plot a bit in the recent past.

Also good to know that he is at least paying some attention to what the fans are discussing.

If he is paying attention then it’s about time he spoke in public instead of this constant behind-closed-doors mentality. There is no attempt to engage with the town or supporter-base at large and hasn’t been for years, which fosters cynicism and mistrust. It also creates vacuum where a clarity and reliable information is replaced by conjecture, gossip and misinformation.

I love that so many Boro fans have been across here and elsewhere voicing their discontent to be met with a wall of silence, but as soon as someone says something like this, this alleged offer, then he’s out there getting people to do his bidding like a rat up a drainpipe.

Any gossip, rumour-mongering, negativity, if he cared he’d be out there at least trying to show people he still cares like he used to. The club started this, don’t forget. They have tried to brush it under the carpet but they’ll do well to move on from it imo.

The fact we haven’t seen head nor tail of the chairman for years says to those of us who aren’t in these supporters’ groups that he really couldn’t give much of a rat’s ponytail about any of us tbh. That’s how it feels. It’s not a great look.

Fully agree. This rumour was allowed to grow legs largely because there is now an image of him that he has a little inner circle of fans he tries to keep happy in the hope that they keep all the other fans quiet.

He needs to start paying some mind to the wider fanbase.

Surely with recent events on and off the field he should be addressing these issues head on. I think this is the first time people are genuinely questioning his intent and ambition.

Agree, although he may be worried of creating a disaster from a PR POV if he comes out and speaks (like he has done in the past), but this silence from Gibbo at the moment is looking worse.

And the longer the silence goes, the worse it's going to get.

Perhaps you want him to call your mobile or something.
