Sol Bryn please ?We should have a decent chance of signing Giles depending on what Wolves are asking.
The rest. We need a RB, CB, CM, CF.....and hopefully keep Chuba.
Carrick is going nowhere, no concern whatsoever.
Keeper - Stefan back on loan or give Sol Bryn a chance?
Would like us to start the season with 2-3 loans max......but appreciate it may be wishful thinking, finances etc.

It is not easy to walk the league FFS. Burnley spent absolutely millions. Southampton were up for 10 years but so we were and Sunderland. You have no idea how it’ll go next season, those two coming down don’t even have a manager. And if Leeds join them, neither do they.
And people said this about Boro in 2015. “Oh no Bamford, Vossen, selling Tomlin, no Kalas, need a ‘keeper etc, the teams coming down…” and look what happened next.

Trying to think if there's any chance of us keeping any of the loan lads. I mean Archer and Ramsey are obviously off the table for transfers but would another loan? Hard to judge whether they're at the point where a loan to a Premier League side is the next move for them?
Giles, I'm not sure. He's thrived this season, to the point you think people would sit up and notice and go for him or Wolves give him a shot, but he's been sent on loan after loan for years now and it's not like he's a kid anymore, if he's not gonna get a shot at Wolves, you could maybe pull it off? Maybe I'm naively leaning too much in to the idea that some sense of affection off the back of this season could tempt him but you never know.
Steffen I doubt, a shame cause he pretty much perfectly fits what Carrick wants and those are few and far between at our level, but it's not like he's gonna push for a place at City either.
Maybe I'm hopeful to the point of deluded.

I'm not actually sure we'll be in for all of the loan players. Maybe Archer and Ramsey but I reckon we'll be eyeing upgrades on Giles and Steffen.

Given that in the last couple of transfer windows we have signed mcgree, Steffen, archer, Forss, Ramsey, Giles why is it that people think we will be unable to find equally good players next window?

FB - Giles is still long term contracted at wolves, balls in his court, would be surprised to see him
Back next year. Think we need another RB. Bola will be sold, maybe Dijksteel.
Cb - decisions. Fry may be sold, think we need a big bruiser at the back to give us a bit of power. A real athlete.
CDM - Mowatt will go need a first team
Replacement, we’ve missed Howson the last couple of matches
Wingers - Jones will be gone. Ramsey think we’ll get him on loan. Need one more at least.
10s need a backup for Chuba or replacement if sold
Cf - we’ve played with one cf in the squad since Carrick came in. Muniz was rubbish, Akpom moved to 10 and crooks was backup. Crooks will be sold. 2 incoming I reckon with different strengths for different games.

It could be a huge rebuild. Steffen, Giles, Archer and Ramsey will all be gone. Mowatt too. We’ll probably cash in on Akpom if we get offered £15m.
Got to hope that we can get Giles and Ramsey back but no guarantees.
The only good thing is I’m sure we already have our targets in mind and come August we’ll be ready to go again.

I’m worried about next season, I think Southampton could keep JWP which would be huge for them (unless he realises it’s a Euro Champs year and he has England aspirations), Leicester could keep Harvey Barnes and Dean Smith and Leeds could keep Bamford and BFS (that was is slightly tongue in cheek)
Hopefully, Watford stay a nutjob team and West Brom panic and sack Corberan.

At our level I don't think really there is much of an upgrade available on Steffen for what we want to do, similar for Giles really, I think he's a player a manager who wants to play the type of football we do accepts their defensive shortcomings for what they offer going forward. Could theoretically sign a left back and push Giles forward if we were to ever manage to sign him.

Carrick’s already said he’s staying, he’s just said it on Sky. He will add quality and we will be right in amongst it again. It’s Karanka 2.0 IMO.
This is spot on. Love Riley and Forss but they lack dynamism and creativity.
I reckon Diallo is a possibility. Carrick spoke highly of him

All of the clubs coming down will definitely need to sell their best players as their contracts will be astronomical, even with parachute payments.

My thoughts are…
Carrick will definitely stay, he comes across intelligent and grounded and not any of wilders characteristics. I don’t think he will be questioning another season, especially if gibbo gives the right backing.
Next year will be a lot tougher, bar Burnley the playoffs and 2nd automatic was pretty open. I think the teams going down will give us a lot more competition than the teams did this year.
A lot of loanees will be going, retaining Giles on a permanent contract would be my main aim although I’m not sure what his value would be. I’d like to see archer back here on loan if villa will let us have him again.
Howson is another year older yes but still I can see him being a big part again, and the bright side is hackney will also be another year developed which is exciting, and maybe barlaser can come into more of a first team role if howson flags. He was a big player at rotherham and can develop even better under Carrick.
Think jones can move on for me he was my favourite player last season but he’s a shell of what he once was, I think he’s been given the opportunity the last few weeks under Carrick and hasn’t proven himself enough.
Intresting to see what other 4/5 players we can bring in, I don’t keep up to date with it but I was under the impression our books were well balanced in our favour now ?
Disappointed with the result tonight but very happy with how the season went overall, in October it looked like we were doomed for another couple years boxing it out in the mid to bottom of the table.

It’s the same **** every season , everybody assuming we’ll smash it the following year as they assume we’ll just build on previous season . It didn’t under wilder and there is every chance it won’t here. We’re facing teams coming down with **** tonnes of money who will most likely take autos
