Race across the World

So them who finished 25 hours ahead, will get that headstart on the next leg? Im sure a similar thing happened on a previous episode/series and that didn't happen and i remember thinking it was unfair?
The idea is to get to the checkpoint and not be last.

In the last 2 series, they all left the checkpoint staggered by the times that they arrived. So if couple one arrived 25hrs ahead, they leave 25hrs before everyone else.

The couple now ahead can afford to stop for maybe a day and do some work to top up their funds.

Haven't started watching it yet, but will do. One of my friends from work (now an ex-colleague) Natalie was on series 1 of this and did fairly well, didn't win it though.

Great show!

For me this race is way worse than the last series as they just hiring cars is no public transport timetables to contend with

The family who gave them a car to drive to their uncle who then agreed to drive them another 4.5 hours down the road. Insane
I thought this, unbelievably generous! Imagine bumping into some random person whilst filling up at Acklam Tesco "excuse me, you wouldn't mind taking me to Calais would you?"

Yeah course mate jump in 🤣

In the 1960s when hitchhiking was a thing that sort of stuff did happen regularly. Age of innocence. Seems Canada still have it.

They've spent the vast majority of the time hitch hiking? That's much more interesting in my book.

Still cannot see how they arrived a full 25 hours without us seeing how they did it. They hired a car to Whitehouses and that was it.
There was a similar thing in ep2 where one of the teams car broke down and we never saw what happened next, they just arrived at the checkpoint. Presume they got rescued by the producers in order to keep the show going?

Half agree with this, been 3 episodes of hitchhiking so far. Also the fact that the checkpoints are tiny villages makes the race to checkpoint bit a bit boring. Last 2 series the checkpoints have been plush hotels in big cities so there has been the added drama of getting lost

That's because of the bizarre choice of first two checkpoints being in places where everyone pretty much had to take the same routes/same ferries. No chance for any organic dispersion.

I’m going to rock up at the thistle hotel tomorrow and ask if the manager can drive me to Aberdeen for nowt.

See how far I get.
