Quality of Errea’s Kits

The club don't give a ****. They do the same thing for everything they sell. I've said it a million times but they sell Primark quality tat for Selfridges prices. People think they are getting a premium product because they are paying big money but they are getting the same stuff Mike Ashley flogs for a couple of quid but with a Boro badge stuck on. The margin they are making in that tat must be huge.

Last season I bought some knock offs from China. Cost £11 for a full kit including shorts and the quality is pretty much the same as the official stuff. That's the price I'm willing to pay for kids kits. £70+ is criminal for such poor quality.

I agree. I think I gave you the site for the knock offs 🤣 . Both my kids have the white 3rd kit. One was bought as a gift and is a genuine one from the club shop, the other was from that Chinese site. They've both been worn/washed about the same amount of times. The kit from China is still like new, the official one isn't looking good at all.

This was my biggest concern going back to Errea, my Adidas stuff is still in great condition after regular use. The Errea stuff is horrendous quality wise, how is the club allowing them to get away with charging premium quality for garbage quality products?

That is so bad considering how much they are charging for a kids kit. They could at least have the badge sewn on. That looks like it's been put on with a Pritt Stick.

Haven’t bought any club merchandise for years but I recall all of the stuff I bought from the club shop for my son was junk, really poor quality.

I went in a few days back looking to buy 3-4 items for me and the kids and it was just tat. The quality has took a dip even from last season’s which was hardly fantastic. Ironically the badge was one of the things that I was concerned about, it felt really cheaply stuck on. The display shirts were clicked, which was always a thing with Errea shirts. Don’t think that’s happened to any of my Adidas Boro shirts.

That’s terrible. £72 for a kids kit and that’s the quality!! Agree with the comments around letting the club know, and I’d be thinking about letting trading standards know as well.

My new home shirt was damaged (snagging and fraying). They sent me a new one out, but to the wrong address. Then they sent another new one out. I have not opened the newest one yet but you do have statutory protections for quality of the product and Boro are very good at sorting stuff out for you.

You have 14 days statutory, 28 days in reality and the product should last “a reasonable” amount of time. The club are very good at honouring the latter so they will sort this out for you. Trading standards will only get involved if the seller is breaking the Sale of Trades and Goods Act 1979 or Consumer Contract legislation. There are exemptions to the above like “intimate” clothing like underwear. But I just wear my shirt on my back. Can’t speak for the rest of you.

I emailed: mfcdirect@mfc.co.uk and got a response within the hour.

The quality of the shirts have been like this for years to be honest. I had similar issues with Hummel and Adidas. Likely to be first batch syndrome.
