Put my tenner on - Boro promoted via playoffs

20-1 isn't over great odds really is it ?
To an outsider Boro are about 9 or 10 places off the playoffs and we haven't won any of our last 3 games. In addition, if we reach the last 6, Boro then have to eliminate 2 teams to get promotion.
I really hope we win our next 2 games, at home to Millwall and PNE. That and a good December might give Mr Gibson the incentive to go for it in the January window and make the 20-1 look generous.

I think 20-1 is fairly good, if, and its a big if, you assume warnock wasn't getting the best out of the squad.

We could very easily finish in a playoff place and you could trade out for a very nice profit, without a playoff ball being kicked.

Have to agree with that.
My dad spent his entire life telling me how sorry he was for introducing me to the Boro but not only
that but they would always let me down and to never ever put money on them.
If i had a son, I would be telling him exactly the same. :D
 
I would want 40/1 - we have about 8% chance of making the play offs and and 25% chance if we made it to the play offs
 
Had a good think this evening listening to BBC Tees Sport and I am more optimistic than at the weekend.

Positives

Wilder would not have come if he had no funds to spend this season

He knows almost exactly what is required

Manager has a good mix of experience, success (in EFL) and energy

Brought his preferred assistant

Wilder is rated by BBC Sheffield reporter and most of their fans

Wilder has a decent working relationship with a number of Prem Managers

Obviously wanted by Director of Football who may have got wind of Norwich sacking their manager, hence Wilder deal agreed quickly on Saturday morning. January transfer dealings will be more joined up than in the Summer when people involved didn't appear to be communicating effectively.

It appears there is a chance of getting Spence back which would be an immediate addition.

Betfred are offering 20/1 on promotion (both automatic and play off route included) - £3 placed.
