Promotion via playoffs

No, the two teams who don't make the top 2 out of the top 4 at the moment will most likely thrash the two joining them in the playoffs, as it stands. However if we develop, resilience under pressure and become more determined at the back in the remaining 3 months who knows what will happen?

I hope they put the the picture up of the Mackems at our ground with the corner flag, in the changing room and training ground to remind our players of the hurt, just silently look at it every day and build the determination to have our day!

Time will tell.
We are defensively and tactically not at good enough but if we do finish in the top 6, then that means that we have won enough from now to then, meaning that our attackers have clicked and if that’s the case then I couldn’t rule out us out scoring anyone.
I personally don’t think that it will happen but let’s see how our forwards do in the last 15 games or so.

If we make the play offs..they can be a bit if a lottery, the odd bad decision here, bit of good fortune (my god I feel we are due some?) And you can make it.

I'm not sure they give a toss quite frankly

Understand the sentiment but the play offs are definitely not a lottery. Usually the better teams win the semi final and go to Wembley.

I honestly think that wouldn't even register. I genuinely think none of them are that passionate or are motivated like that.

They just seem to accept defeat, conceding horrendous goals, poor performances etc. and move on. That's football and we'll learn from this, as the man at the top regularly trots out.

Does anyone think they've seen a 'reaction' from the squad in the last few seasons, where they go out seemingly determined with a bit of fire in the belly and force a result?

We try our way, if it's horrendous and we're well below par, it just seems like it's an 'oh well, on to the next game', rinse and repeat.

We are capable of beating most teams on the day.
Except when it really matters, when we're expected to win, if there's the slightest of pressure on us, when the opposition is mean to us, when we play Blackburn or Coventry, etc etc.

We'd need to put a run of form together, and realistically then win three games in a row, under enormous pressure to deliver, against two teams who are better and more consistent than us.

Can anyone really see us doing that?

6th placed team hardly ever wins the playoff now. I think it's 15 years this year.

5th has only won a very few in that time too.

3rd and 4th dominante because they're usually better teams.

It doesn't mean 5th and 6th will never win it again though.

Yes. It's football and it's the Championship and it's the playoffs. Anything can happen.

Agreed, but there is quite a few examples of teams who really shouldn't have won them but managed it over the years.

You need to string together three good performances back to back to win the play offs.

Just saying...
