Can you just show yr phone? Or do you need a printer?
Phone always works
for me
You can't fit your phone in the card reader.....Is this still the case?
Agree…We have now moved on and are now in the days of e-tickets, so the turnstile technological surely needs to be upgraded to align you would think. The gates at the Riverside can't accept a phone, surely something that needs addressing. My guess would be that the scanner could/would read a phone code but you need to push the ticket into a thin slot and there is no way your phone is going in there!
On the other hand when you approach a turnstile with slightly different scanning technology eg like Cardiff it reaĺly throws everyone. Even if it does just scanning the other way around and you need staff to help and queues form.Agree…We have now moved on and are now in the days of e-tickets, so the turnstile technological surely needs to be upgraded to align you would think.
Or if a season ticket holder get it loaded on your card. There are clear instructions on the print at home tickets, where to fold them and how to insert in the card reader, if there are any faults it is with the dimwits who can't follow simple instructions and not the club.....If you really can't manage it, then you can also select to have your ticket posted. The club can't do any more than that
I suspect we'll eventually end up with a standardised, FA-approved ticketing system. Every fan gets a card, you load tickets on to that card, and then it'll work at any ground. Probably stick a photo ID on it to stop resales.Or if a season ticket holder get it loaded on your card.
I really hope there will be a member card soon and you can use your card at cup games and for league matches.
Or the club could pull themselves out of the 90s and allow fans to scan a barcode on their phones like the rest of the world. There are clear instructions on the print at home tickets, where to fold them and how to insert in the card reader, if there are any faults it is with the dimwits who can't follow simple instructions and not the club.....If you really can't manage it, then you can also select to have your ticket posted. I think a lot of fans would be very against this because it would be an ID Card. It could carry info about the individual that lots of us would not feel comfortable about.I suspect we'll eventually end up with a standardised, FA-approved ticketing system. Every fan gets a card, you load tickets on to that card, and then it'll work at any ground. Probably stick a photo ID on it to stop resales.
It's a trivial problem to solve through tech, it's just getting all clubs to agree to it and pay for it that's the massive hurdle.
When I went to an event recently there was scanning from phones but a human being did it with a scanning gun. Do you really think MFC have the capacity to do that?Or the club could pull themselves out of the 90s and allow fans to scan a barcode on their phones like the rest of the world.
Respectfully, Nobs our club could be so much better about this kind of stuff. There are clear instructions on the print at home tickets, where to fold them and how to insert in the card reader, if there are any faults it is with the dimwits who can't follow simple instructions and not the club.....If you really can't manage it, then you can also select to have your ticket posted. I respectfully disagree Weemoby, there are various options to buy tickets. Load onto ST, in person at the ticket office, over the phone, online with print at home, post and collection options....Respectfully, Nobs our club could be so much better about this kind of stuff.
I know that instructions might seem obvious to the likes of you and me, but others might need a hand up Kidda.
Be kind Noberto
I dunno, I've been to events all over the world with greater capacity than The Riverside and less staff. They've been fine with largely entry via phone. It's not like getting inside our ground is a nightmare, but it is behind the times. When I went to an event recently there was scanning from phones but a human being did it with a scanning gun. Do you really think MFC have the capacity to do that?
You could have a mfc card app on your phone like so many reward cards for shops as well as or instead of a season card. Print at home tickets with qr codes is farcical and not very green at all.I suspect we'll eventually end up with a standardised, FA-approved ticketing system. Every fan gets a card, you load tickets on to that card, and then it'll work at any ground. Probably stick a photo ID on it to stop resales.
