Press Conference?

Not seen anything from anyone this morning? Has it happened?

EDIT I see there is an injury update on Steffen.

Assuming it went ahead at the normal time, not much has been reported on the press conference other than an update on Steffen. Wonder if Wilder was holding back on the questions.

It was really long. And Wilder came out with plenty of plain speaking. Talking in depth of how they had all been soul searching really. Looking closely at what has been going wrong. Questioning everything but basing it all on close analysis of matches and stats from matches and being extremely professional and thorough about it all. Really worth a listen I would say. And the radio interview was almost as long. We cannot hear the radio interview as it is in a different room but judging on how long it was there should be some really interesting stuff broadcast on BBC Radio Tees I should have thought.

Unfortunately they did too much soul searching and now Jonny Howson has found god. He's become a monk, moved to Lindisfarne and grown his beard back.

I do think this period is crucial for Wilders career as if he doesn't turn this around he'll be sacked and his next job could be in league one

I will transcribe my stuff today because I don't think it has been included.
They were good answers as well. So I will work on that this afternoon.

Were there good questions though?? Soul searching questions?? It is alright having good answers to poor questions, but we need to make sure the right questions are asked, so we get good answers to good questions.

I think this is a really good point, some of the questions that get asked by the journos are powder puff at times which is ok when the team is doing well but we need some proper interrogation as to what’s going on after another shambolic first half like the other night.

The most interesting point for me was he is playing the same formation tomorrow and that McGree is a number 10 'because he has scored 2 goals'. Also, only 2 goals are down to formation and 10 are down to mistakes.

So no accountability from the manager or coaching staff. So tomorrow I suspect will be Steffen in goal and the rest as you were. Rotherham will come and catch us the break and Wilder will bring Forss on for the last 2 minutes.

If I had any sense I wouldn't go but I just cannot help myself.

Sorry Rob, I don't think from what I've seen there that Wilder gets it. He just blames the players over and over again. But he trains them and sets them up and tells them what to do. If they cannot do it he needs to try something different. And he has confirmed he isn't going to try anything different. Just ask the same players to stop making the same mistakes. Literally madness.

But surely you need to ask questions that get you answers, not just questions that make the reporter sound good.
In other words you have to read the situation and listen to how the press conference is developing and maybe try and get the manager to expand on a point or throw a little more light on something he has hinted at.

That sounded smart **** - sorry. But someone shouted at me at the end of the Reading game - "Tell Wilder." Tell him what? He absolutely knows what we are thinking and how we are feeling. I just want him and the players to get some results and turn it around.

Has anyone asked him why he doesn't start with Forss up front with Muniz?
Or why he doesn't even include Hoppe in the matchday squad?
