Press Conference 2pm

Sheff United fans are absolutely loving this on twitter. If I was a young lad getting a chance tomorrow I’d be absolutely well up for the chance to show them up in front of the cameras.

That being said, I’ve just read that the Newcastle game has been called off. Turns out football organisations are worse at following the rules than the government.

Impossible for any recalled player to play tomorrow:

43.8.1 the appropriate forms for his registration or the transfer of his registration (including, for the avoidance of doubt, Temporary Loan Transfers) are submitted (in such manner as the League shall specify from time to time) to and received by The League by 12.00 noon on the day prior to the date of such match; and confirmed by the League to be in order; and

55.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the Winter Transfer Window;

42.3 The Winter Transfer Window in any Season shall:

42.3.1 commence at midnight on 31 December; and

EFL absolute joke of an outfit…have all the other teams who have called theit games off , or requested to call their game off been told it’s a requirement to bring back their loan players..probably not 😡😡😡

The Sheff U price to win has dropped a lot of the Betfair Exchange today- someone had inside information and was using it - price now 1.87 for SH was 2.20 last night.

I would have no issue with us having to play if the same rules were being applied across the board but they don’t seem to be.

The lack of transparency about the rules is the issue.
It’s exactly this, I have no issue with us playing the game as long as every other team has to play by the same rules for example how many players do Coventry or Luton have out or are we being penalised for having no injuries???

Newcastle didn’t even release the number of covid cases they had, just said covid and injuries as far as I know.

The game being on Sky an influence?

Nicked from sheff utd forum:

Lets not get our hopes up too much. Everton were told to play and then it was rescinded later in the day when more results came in. It seems they have enough players to put a team out at the moment plus he's getting 4 loanees back. May have helped if he didn't let one of his goalkeepers out on loan.

You have academy so use them and get on with it. Before you say anything about us we did put some kids on the bench against Blackpool other week.

Also don’t forget that EFL forced WBA to play other week against Reading especially WBA did have some cases in their team.

Other day you lot were hammering Blackpool lot regarding ‘testing’ stuff etc and now you want the game off. Hilarious Boro. Happy New Year. 👍

If it wasn't for the goal difference .. I'd be tempted to put a team of 16 year olds out .. have Sheff Utd d*ck us 30-0 .. just to make a point ..

Public safety must come first.

if we can get the game on after that, then let’s do that.

Sky will be sticking their oar in to, but he who pays the piper
