A couple of empty shops have opened their doors to the RBL as pop ups locally selling not just poppies but other RBL accessories.
Are they selling the 'Pull the Pin' rum that the RBL has been promoting?A couple of empty shops have opened their doors to the RBL as pop ups locally selling not just poppies but other RBL accessories.
I saw that, it's quite a crass form of marketingAre they selling the 'Pull the Pin' rum that the RBL has been promoting?
In the main London stations (I went through Liverpool St and Waterloo yesterday); they have the cashless machine thingies now. It's not having the cash in my pocket that's been the problem. I've got that used to going shopping just using my phone I never carry any.

Horrendous idea. Glad they are reviewing it.I saw that, it's quite a crass form of marketing
No, I disagree it has an element of black humour that will be familiar to many former service personnel.I saw that, it's quite a crass form of marketing
Don't think they designed it. They just jumped on it as a market product association
It's a business ran by military veterans, independent of the Royal British Legion.
I agree that it doesn't seem in the best of taste but I'm not that keen to criticise actual veterans for their choice of product design.
Absolutely, it's not mandatory and even if you did want to wear one there's a million reasons why you might not be e.g. you have loads of other things to remember on a morningI'd be annoyed if I was asked why I wasn't wearing a poppy. It's not mandatory.
Fair point , think I will stick to the paper poppy, then pop it on a coat that I hardly wear and spend hours looking for where I have put it.

Tbf she wasn't being rude, just chatting but I felt bad for not having one. Also not carrying cash would be an issue I guess even if I did get oneNot being funny but I'd be telling your colleague to mind his own business, how rude! IMO, anyway.
I've seen the odd stall in supermarkets and unless my brain has made it up there was one outside in the middle of Yarm High Street the other day.
Yeah, certian places it's easy. A few years ago I worked in Salisbury. No shortage of poppy sellers there for some reason!Plenty of sellers here in North Hertfordshire, mainly young army cadets stood in the town square in 2's or 3's, mostly at the weekends.
Millions of dogs and thousands of pigeons were also killed in action. What colour do we wear for them? Never mind the donkeys, cats and elephants.A member of the audience at my local theatre had a lilic poppy as well as a red poppy. I asked her what was special about lilac and she said it was for a memorial for the killed horses in WW1 - she said there were 3 million killed - 3 times as many as humans in the British forces.
It's a nice sentiment but the numbers are a bit off.A member of the audience at my local theatre had a lilic poppy as well as a red poppy. I asked her what was special about lilac and she said it was for a memorial for the killed horses in WW1 - she said there were 3 million killed - 3 times as many as humans in the British forces.
