Carrick isn’t immune from criticism and I have my doubts but seriously how blind are some fans? Look at what’s he is left with look at the buisness Scott has done at the club. January was a success but if it wasn’t for Akpom deciding to get his career on track we would have been left with muniz and hoppe till January the club is ran awfully, as much as we all dislike wilder for what he was at the same time he wasn’t backed properly and that’s probably the reason he wanted off to Burnley due to our inept recruitment team and owner who’s taking the club backwards carrick is NOT the problem

Carrick is definitely part of the problem.
Yes, we are infinitely weaker than last season, but if Carrick can't adapt and get a tune out of the squad then he will be sacked.
Of the 10 outfield players he most regularly picked when he first took over, 8 are still here.

Akpom and Giles are massive losses, but it shouldn't be turning us from promotion contenders to relegation fodder. He absolutely has to take some of the responsibility.

The carrick worship is off the charts.
He's picking worse teams every week whilst not attempting to change the way we play to adapt to our obvious shortcomings.

It's his main jobs, pick the team and choose how we play.

I spent all summer telling my Geordie mate that Carrick is the real deal.
Some of the decisions he’s been making since season started (O’brien left forward, Rogers up top, leaving McGree out, Silvera getting in ahead of Jones consistently etc) have made me feel like a right silly twaat.

Same where I am mate, getting pelters down my way

Carrick and the coaches are chopping and changing in a desperate attempt at getting something to change. The biggest worry is defensively Boro seem totally useless. This is despite having two very good Championship centre backs in the team.

I’m struggling to maintain a sense of perspective. The only thing is the games we’ve had, especially away are typically difficult for Boro and QPR have a ridiculously good Riverside record. Otherwise it’s very much doom and gloom.

Fickle nature of our supporters summed up. Why does every manager fail here it’s not a coincidence, he’s on a bad run and he’s making mistakes but the fact that the scrout Scott and Gibson are not being the sole focus of our downfall is beyond me. If we sack him we will not improve in the long run because the underlying issues at the club are beyond carrick

IF hes saying the players give everything then that is an admission he is culpible

Because hes said that now 5 games in a row , so if they have give all they can give and we lose 5 in a row it basically means they are not good enough as
there is no room for improvement

Managers fail everywhere when they dont cut the mustard they go. Hes not managing man city he isn't going to have it easy he has to put points on the board.

Not that he should be sacked

I’ve never agreed with this view, but we’ve had so many managers through the door, from experienced to novice (Southgate - he turned out to be rubbish, or not so) Maybe, possibly, probably there is something in it. But also, maybe if we had backed a Southgate/ McClaren (not the best example)/ Mowbray/ Carrick through the rough times then we would come out stronger - I’m not saying Ferguson united style , but you know……

This is so knee jerk - it’s untrue
It's not knee jerk, or indeed what I think should happen. In the modern game though it is the inevitable consequence of failing to provide results.
We played some of the best football in recent memory last season under Carrick when he had the talent available to not only retain possession, but also to outscore teams on a regular basis. We no longer have that ability in the squad, or at least it hasn't shown itself to be there yet and hence he will need to adapt his tactics to try and get the best out of the current squad. If he insists on trying to play like we did last season then we'll struggle and results will ultimately seal his fate.

Not only that, but most mangers don’t go on to anything after they leave us. Southgate is an exception, but he was at the right place at the right time and hasn’t had a club job. Mowbray is still in work, but hasn’t really achieved anything. The rest don’t get jobs, apart from the odd job here and there but all have struggled to get work.
