Always used tang in boro, croggy was always used in Stockton / Durham as I recall as well as backer

He definitely said 'Tan' - assumed it was short for tandem maybes.

Been covered in some depth on the old board I think. Tan as far as I can tell is from Tandem but someone from Co Durham also told me that when counting sheep, farmers there say "Yan, tan..." in place of "One, two..."
