Peace in Northern Ireland

I am a Unionist, but a Democrat too.
It is only a matter of time before there is a vote for Northern Ireland to join the RoI.
When there is, they will vote for it.
I will be sad, but the will of the majority should prevail.
The Loyalist paras will then cause havoc on Ireland and in GB.
You're right, the Troubles relived potentially, but from the other side of the fence.

There’s a reason Sinn Fein/i r a we’re so keen on it.

As they knew it was a defacto back door to to unity.

Btw people forget that the full name of the tories is the

Conservative and unionist party

Both Irish Republicans and Scottish Nationalists have attempted to use Brexit to their advantage.

The fact is,
Sinn Fein were democratically elected, when the system was designed never to give them the mandate.
The DUP represents the stone in the shoe of progress in Ireland.
As they block Stormont, they block the right of all the people of Northern Ireland to Democracy.

I wonder how different it would have been if the will of the majority of the whole island had been respected by Elisabeth the first and John Perrott. But I guess that was a while ago. Europe was always going to bügger up partition - which Blair and Mowlem understood, then with Brexit we threw ourselves right back into the clarts. And of course you could always trust Boris to make the worst of a bad job.

That's
"Scariest place I've ever been to?"

Wow. I've lived here for over 30 years and have never felt afraid.

The peace process isn't hanging by a thread either. The severe threat was only dropped last year, it had been in place for many years.
That's a very interesting perspective Darren. A good friend of mine has just relocated to NI (his wife is from there) and he's invited us over to visit. Growing up during the 70's I probably still have a distorted view of what life is really like; a view that is fed by numerous voyeuristic 'documentaries'.
Looks like some great hiking too!

Come and visit NI, you won't regret it. Belfast is a great city break and there is tons to do if you're here for 3 or 4 days.
