I think he'll be gone, hasn't exactly pulled up trees, tbf though not many players have.

It just says....What does The Notebook says Nobs?
We’ve actually had loads of fairly rubbish South Americans. Obviously there are 3 or 4 examples of decent ones (Juninho, Gaston etc) but even Stuani wasn’t universally loved when he was here. He’s been one of the most underwhelming players we’ve ever had from S America, maybe a close second to Fabio lol
Remember being shocked seeing him in a Champions League lineup for a Kyiv just before the war broke out. Seemed like he was doing well for them at the time.Well that’s a low bar to jump over
Stuani was pretty frustrating but had a habit of finding the back of the net and being in the right place in the box. We’ve actually had loads of fairly rubbish South Americans. He had all the attributes to play as a striker in Karanka's system. And it was his natural position.Stuani was pretty frustrating but had a habit of finding the back of the net and being in the right place in the box.
He never really fit Karanka's system though
Good summary. I couldn’t say I actually enjoyed his time here (Stuani), but it did produce results. But he was dull to watch and often looked rubbish. I understand why though. He had all the attributes to play as a striker in Karanka's system. And it was his natural position.
He was doing a job for the team. I think Karanka liked him out wide because he was tactically aware so helped us keep shape out of possession and carried a goal threat at the other end (think the idea was he made a "2 up front" at times).
It certainly would've been better for him personally to have played up front, but he never complained, always put a shift in. It was a painful watch at times though, he was never a winger/wide midfielder.
Personally always thought it was a waste, I wanted him through the middle at the time. But we did end up promoted so I suppose the ends justified the means.
Were you even watching the match. He was terrible. Hackney was worse though but I know you can't criticize him.He really hasn't, he was our best player v Coventry....
I think fans appreciated his work ethic and could see he was a good footballer, the frustration is that most wanted to see him play centrallyStuani was pretty frustrating but had a habit of finding the back of the net and being in the right place in the box.

Karanka played a front 3 and there was no way Stuani was going to get the nod to play in the CF position in front of Negredo.I think fans appreciated his work ethic and could see he was a good footballer, the frustration is that most wanted to see him play centrally
I saw him in Yarm last week looking at house details in the window of an estate agents and his girlfriend was with himHe may or may not have been viewing my house the other day with a view to rent it out for at least a year for him, his girlfriend and there two french bull dogs to reside in... Make of that what you will
Personally thought Hackney and Barlaser were our two best players (possibly along with Dieng) but it was a low barWere you even watching the match. He was terrible. Hackney was worse though but I know you can't criticize him.
Yeah I actually thought Hackney had done OK. He was driving forward with the ball when he could.Personally thought Hackney and Barlaser were our two best players (possibly along with Dieng) but it was a low bar
Agree, it was always his best position for Boro.Stuani played the same role for Boro that he played for Uruguay. He was always on the right of a front three for his country. There seems to be a belief that Karanka was playing him ‘out of position’ but I don’t think it was like that at all.
