Payero

I don't think the club want to keep him. We just can't find anyone to sell him to.
Was thinking the same. I’d love to know who signed him and why because as explained above, he’s never fit it any of the shapes played by any of the managers we’ve had since he was bought. People said it was a £5m fee, I’d be surprised if it was that much though who really knows outside those who negotiated it. But whatever it was, barring a turnaround of Akpom-esque proportions, it’s just been an absolutely colossal waste of time and money.

And £25k pw . Unreal for an unproven player . Maybe someone made a mistake , Should have been £2.5k pw , and even then he's had our eyes out .

I wish somebody would explain the virtues of keeping payero when its obvious to a 5 year old his style and attributes do not fit the model we are playing in

I mean, does anybody here actually see him as a central midfielder in a 2 like we play?

He simpy can't do that role, he can't play out from the back, do short passes, have defensive discipline

His attributes tend to lean more toward being a box to box type in a 3 man midfield with one sitting and 2 making lateral runs

Hes not a wide right player and no even close to a number 10

Hes shown next to nothing at the club , been here 2 years already, the club took a risk and thats fine, we have to take punts on younger players who might
come good, thats the market we are in

Good luck to the lad, but its as plain on the nose on your face it wont be at boro
Unfortunately the success of Akpom will now mean that carrick can polish any turd.
