Payero to Udinese

And at least that God awful chant has gone. Cringworthy how it rang out when much better players don't get sung about.

He might very well look great in Serie A, but the Championship is a different kind of intensity and requires a different skillset. He didn't even stand out against 10 man Huddersfield in the Carabao Cup a few weeks ago.
I think he wanted away.. bare minimum performances. He’ll be better off in Italy with an Argentinian team mate and a few more Spanish speakers.

It’s rare you hear much dialogue on the training vids, but you can clearly hear Woody saying “Don’t foul him, don’t foul him” to Martin.

What about that lad who Karanka brought in - hardly ever played, but somehow got into more photographs than he had time on the pitch?
He`s stood above the "Skybet" sign with Ayala`s arm round him?
Often wondered why he was part of the squad.

Muniz was crap.
Like Connolly the year before!
Muniz wasn't crap really.

It's just that our forwards were smashing in more goals than we had in absolute decades. Only an idiot would pis$ about with that lineup? So Muniz barely got a sniff.

Connolly on the other hand got much more than a sniff. He inexplicably got to hoover up the scent of the first team again and again and again despite being utter $hit and playing like he'd put on a pair of clownshoes instead of football boots each time. Often whilst the likes of 26-33million Balogun looked on from the bench.

Bit of a substancial difference, IMHO.

Carrick dropped him after one game and he never got a snuff after that, he obviously didn't fancy him for whatever reason.

The game he played was at Preston (I was there, he was awful).

Not good enough for us but good enough for a much better team?

Have a feeling we’ll live to regret this, never got anywhere near enough of a chance here.
Three different managers have come to the same conclusion about him, which speaks volumes for me.

I think he's had his chance, but never looked comfortable with the speed and intensity of the Championship.
