Paul Weller at the Globe, 13 April.

He dips into his whole back catalogue, however don’t expect many Jam or Style Council songs. He usually finishes with Town Called Malice.

Once saw the Jam three times in a week. Wouldn't go out to my back garden to see Weller. Comes across as a decent bloke but his music is boring now.
Has started doing a couple of Jam songs.

I wonder if he'll have his new LP out by then. Fat Pop is probably my favourite solo album of his, so I've high hopes for the next one.

Did I see it was £55 a ticket? Goes back to my earlier rant about gig prices. Utter joke. No wonder I hardly go see live music now.
£165 for a pair for the Manics next year. And then on before Suede. Sorry JDB et al, I’m staying at home. Although it’s sold out so clearly a demand.

Suede are fantastic live but I have never seen MSP so would like to see them. But that said I didn't try for tickets. Not sure why now.

Manics are great, seen lots of gigs, but never seen Suede - Going to Edinburgh to see them both, will make a short holiday out of it with some Munroe bagging also.

We have seen Suede twice and they were amazing. My wife has seen the manics twice and loved them, not my cuppa tea.

couldnt see myself paying 50 odd quid to a gig these days. Most I payed for 40 to see Cohen at Manchester Opera House at the warm up gig for his last world tour. As an older guy (66) seen most of my favs back in the day when they were at there peak .... maybe would recind all that for Blondie who I seem to avoid seeing

Went to the Globe last night for the first time since it reopened to see Soul II Soul. Not normally my thing but our lass bought the tickets.

The mix was shiite. Far too muddy. The bass playing looked great but there was no punch so got lost in the mix along with everything else. I'm hoping it was the fault of the bands sound engineers and not the house's.

Ended up having 5 pints of Moretti at £5.90 a shot. The ticket stated 19:30 start but they didn't come on until 9. Managed to slip away to the Castle & Anchor for another Moretti Moretti for 4 quid half way through the performance when I went out for a vape. Disappointed the Talbot is no longer there and the North Eastern was shut.

Defo going to avoid going in at 19:30 next time I go.
