No need to say sorry, its your opinion and its fair enough. He was poor, Fry should have been playing instead. I don’t see many fans directly having a pop at Carrick though, it was HIS fault he played, and given McNair had been away albeit with Northern Ireland, he had Fry at home and fresh and had been working with him. Carrick should have known Warnocks likely tactics and played Fry accordingly.Sorry Col, the lack of professionalism in McNair’s performance today needs calling out. It was rank. I watched it, by no means did other players cover themselves in glory but he was absolutely passive in key moments and his body language is horrendous to boot.
He’s not a youngen, seasoned pro who’s been coached by the opposing manager, he should know better.
However, we absolutely lost because we were switched off, playing walking football first half, suckered in by Warnocks tactics, we came out as a team expecting them to continue as they left off, we were asleep as a team from the moment the 2nd half started. We failed to tackle Ruffels despite 4 Boro players around him and yes McNairs poor tackle played him in nicely. Someone should have fouled him long before though. Smith just backed off for the 2nd, the next two were rank defending and ball watching from everyone. McNair played his part, but others were culpable just as much imho, the whole defence were unprofessional, the midfield too. Hackney was getting away with murder first half, nearly every foul was him first half. Too many players were way off the required pace and we fell right into Warnocks trap.
