Packet of Tabs!

That sounds insane but it could well be true. I thought that loads of youngsters were shunning all drugs these days? Their way of rebelling against their parents who were like me and drank and smoked and took loads of pills and acid when they were young.
A certain stand at the Riverside is rife. Unless the lads go in the bogs together to cross swords behind closed doors. Shocked at the age of them.

Prohibition has never worked mate.

Obviously it's never been an absolute solution, and if the majority of people wanted to smoke then they'd find a way, but smokers are already a fairly small minority just by increasing the prices and the knowledge of how ruinous it is for your health.

I doubt it would ever make a popular comeback if it was made illegal outright, you'd just have the diehards and tryhards smoking illegally, which would still lead to thousands of lives saved.

Drugs are rife everywhere nowadays. Certainly noticeable at away games are the group of lads all trying to talk louder than each other, sniffly noses and scary bongy eyes 😲😲😲, and they tend to pop in the cubicles together.
Coke is a hell of a lot cheaper than it used to be and taking it is seen as being a bit of a status symbol amongst some simpletons. Horrible dirty drug. Causes more aggro than booze does because it turns sane people in to monsters.

I've never met anyone who didn't act like a complete a**ehole on coke. The moron's drug of choice.

Think I've already admitted that I dabbled in it a bit when I was younger. Really didn't like the bloke that it turned me in to. That evil stuff just made me want to fight anyone just for looking at me a bit funny.

My habit is nearly forty years old now. I wish that I could quit but whenever I've tried it's been hell for me. And it turns me in to a short tempered @rsehole and that makes me a right sod to be around.
My dad was the same. I remember mam giving me the money when dad was in one of his giving up phases, and saying go down the shops and get your dad 20 b and h

March will be 30 years since I stopped at the age of 32, for those who remember him used one of Paul McKenna's self hypnosis videos which helped. Went from 60 a day to 0 overnight.

I was maybe 23, 24 when i stopped
I wasnt feeling very well so didnt smoke during that time, once i got better i didnt start again
I also stopped taking sugar too, in my tea, on my cereal, strange the things you remember

Yeah I remember when we went a bit daft after those Cherry Cokes on the bouncy castle at your 7th birthday party. You never could take the sugar rush 🎃

I stopped abruptly. I was having a fag outside a hotel I was staying at, took a drag....and went dizzy and numb all down one side. I knew immediately it was a stroke. I put the cigarette out and rang for an ambulance. It was the last I ever smoked. I was very lucky that the stroke was mild and over time most of the feeling down my side came back, with the weird exception of the sole of my left foot, and some fingers on my left hand. They are still numb and always will be. Other than that I got off light and there are no outward signs at all.

I was in hospital for 3 days, during which time I kept having vivid dreams that I was smoking in bed and the butt was setting the blankets on fire. In the weeks after I came out, every time I saw anyone smoke it just seemed such a weird and foreign thing to do. It was like my brain had been rewired, which of course it had.

Best wishes in any future attempt Bumface . If it’s any consolation I too turn into a short tempered @rsehole BUT I don’t even smoke !

I was never a proper smoker but would have quite a few over the weekend when out with my friends. Even now after a few and in certain circumstances I would easily smoke a couple. I've done that in the past but always wake the next morning with an awful taste that takes a couple of days to clear.

£14 for 20 though? Bloody hell, people must be loaded to smoke these days. Can you even buy 10 anymore?

It's worse...

I remember been at school in the late 90's and if kids did drugs at school it was weed/skunk and nothing more. Nowadays, teenagers are taking hard drugs - MDMA, Cocaine, Ketamine. We had a 14 year old die from taking MDMA here in Northallerton a couple of years ago.

Drug taking, the associated culture is glamorised in films and social media that kids are guided by so its no surprise. The worst bit as well is the culture of being a drug dealer is also glamorised but the quality of the drug is worse and worse being mixed with god knows what.
