Over 26,000 tickets sold for millwall

Why wouldn't they be telling the truth ?

The numbers they announced in sales before games last season often didn't seem to match up with the announced attendance, seemed to be higher than it turned out to be.

Not that I think there's anything malicious in it, I think they were just trying to create a bit of excitement for the games.

We do have 21000 season ticket holders can guarantee 1-2 thousand of them will miss a game each home game. Sales pre game take these into account. Offical if how many go through the gate

I think Millwall will sell out their initial allocation.

they have strengthened and bought well during the closed season, also with the loss of their owner/chairmen, fans will put a shift in for him.

I suspect they won't.
They don't tend to travel in numbers.
They didn't bring that many for the big playoff decider a few seasons back.

Apart from two or three seasons back, when we had a few mongrels goading their mongrels, I imagine they wont need much more than a couple of the usual blocks in the corner.

Looks like walk-ups for the South Stand will be in block 55 / 54. The rest of the South Stand is sold out [Mosty season card holders]. Should be a great atmosphere.

Looks like its going to be a typical Teesside summer day - cloud, showers an wind off the North Sea.

I noticed the south stand is virtually a season card/smartphone sell out.

The numbers Boro announced were always correct - it was numbers reported by fans that sometimes turned out to be conjecture. Also, the ground can look less full when season ticket holders seats remain empty - there are likely to be a few away on holiday this Saturday I would have thought.

The numbers mentioned by the MFC Twitter account weren't always correct, when responding to fans asking how many were sold for certain matches.

"Just under <certain number>" and it was often a decent bit under that on the day, when you'd have expected sales to have surpassed that figure in the time since they announced it, but I can't be bothered going months back in their Twitter feed to find the replies for proof.

Either way, 26k+ for the opening day is an excellent figure.
