'our own players' nonsense

Its more I'd rather give chances to players to learn the system who are going to be here for the start of next season. Ayling, Thomas and Greenwood's should definitely not be here so they aren't part of the long term project.
So which of our senior full backs need to learn the system?

No complaints when Ramsey, Archer and Giles were stopping players from learning the system last year, funnily enough. Were they 'holding themselves back' because if they were none of you picked it up.

There’s not cutting the mustard and then there’s completely awful.. the two fullbacks fall into the latter category and simply shouldn’t be playing . Ayling a legs have gone and Thomas seems like he has never played the game before.
Greenwood has had chance after chance ina team with a very low goals scored at home tally. It’s a mess , and the manager needs to try something else
I agree with all of that, they're poor but they're our players until the end of the season.

It's abit different last year when we were winning game after game in the automatic promotion race even. This year we using these loan players who are worse than our own current fullbacks.

But when we were still losing people were writing off Engel every week and now he’s the answer.

Some of our fans just want everyone out.

Needs nipping in the bud. I don't know where it's come from but all players, whether here permanently or on loan, are our players

I agree with some loan players currently not cutting the mustard but stop this childish nonsense. It's not as if they're keeping decent development players out, we haven't got any at the moment. They're being selected either instead of senior pros or because there's no option.
Childish, really. You think Thomas should be in before engel?

He is *****. Choosing between Engel and Thomas is like choosing between getting poked in the eye or punched in the nuts.
Really b_g I think this is nonsense. We defend so poorly our lb and rb are going to be exposed continually. That's not to say any of our options are good but then neither was Giles, if you consider them defenders first and foremost. We don't.

Engel, so far, had offered much more than Thomas going forward which is the main criteria for Carrick.

Neither of them are good enough. Engel is a poor footballer. We've seen enough of him to know he's not good enough.

We've obviously brought Thomas in on loan with the view that he would improve that position. It hasn't happened. He's just as bad. I assume Carrick doesn't think Engel is good enough either otherwise he wouldn't be out the team.

Massively failed in this position with our recruitment. But we have failed in a lot of areas in the recruitment.

Thomas was brought in to fill the gap left by Bangura.

Not sure I agree. I was surprised that Thomas played yesterday, which supports your position that Carrick doesn't think he is good enough.

I don't think he is a poor footballer for the championship. I think he is a poor defender though.

On recruitment, I don't agree, though I see where you are coming from.

If we can beat Leicester and capitulate against stoke there is something else going on.

Wet look devoid of belief once we go one down. That's the managers doing.

Engel has featured in the magority of our wins including the only wins we've had this year against Millwall and Leicester and Chelsea. I like Engel as he passes the ball forwards at some sort of speed whilst the rest are pedestrian
