Our best XI now

I think this thread shows how strong our first 11 and back ups are now as we are well catered for alll over barring that seasoned striker but do have goals through the side.

Add the Ozzie boys into the mix and it’s not looking too shabby

It depends if by "now" you mean right at this very moment in time (injuries/absences), or "now" that the window has closed.

If it's now the window has closed, i have no idea why people are including Greenwood.

what, by posting his stats??
You’ve said he’s over performing. You’ve also said he wouldn’t get in a match day squad which is utterly bizarre considering the situation upfront.

As I say, I think he’s much better than you believe him to be.

His goals are overperforming his xG, that is a fact. That is the definiton of overperformance.

As I said "which isn't a bad thing"

Honestly you could start an argument in an empty room :ROFLMAO:
It’s not an argument. I just can’t fathom you saying he doesn’t get in the squad. I don’t think there would be many if any other fans who wouldn’t at least have him on the bench. He starts for me but that’s just my opinion. I have no problem if you prefer Latte Lath that’s fine. They both offer different things but to not have Coburn in the squad at all giving the lack of options makes no sense and we would just be making ourselves weaker.

Well thanks for having no problem with my opinion, that is appreciated.

If I was you I'd have a lie down and calm down a bit.

On paper, minus LT injuries.

I'm not sure overperforming is the correct word.

It means he is finishing his chances well. If he's outscoring his xG then his goal tally is better than expected with the chances he has had.

Lath is matching his xG so his finishing has been average.

Coburn has a much lower xG than Lath because he finds himself in less goal scoring positions. That's obvious to anyone who's watched Boro this season.

Lath's ability to get into goalscoring positions is backed up with his higher xG but unless he converts that into more goals by improving his finishing, its worthless really.

For context, Lath's xG is very similar to Archer's last season showing his lead up play getting into those goal scoring positions is as good as Archer's, he's just not converting his chances as well. Again I think most fans can see this through watching the game without seeing the stats.

Ok, I think this is pedantics a little - the definition of overperformance is "To perform better than expected" which in Coburn's case he is performing better than his xG would suggest.
I don't think this is a bad thing. I agree he is finishing his chances well.

And I think this is what I would confirm from watching them both as well - Coburn has scored some good goals this season whilst Lath has been a bit wasteful (but this has improved - he was underperforming v xG earlier in the season)

I dont think it works the same at all pace when your tired is the winner
But I would say that they would be more tired playing against pace than physicality for 70 minutes.
I have just had look through the stats for LL starts/subs. And it looks to me he has started 14 games and been subbed 6 times (I’ve left Chelsea off) and we have scored 5 goals after he left the pitch. Whether this proves anything or not, I don’t know

Yet you would still have Coburn sat in the stands.

With everyone fit, it would certainly be a possibilty yes. Which is testament to our squad depth and not any slight on Coburn.

Tell you what Diego, if it makes you happy I will swap him for Clarke.
