Oneboro Transfer Thread

Pull your finger out, lads.

It's usually appointment reading every window. Where are the ITKs? Where are the flight trackers?

Is the rumour mill on strike? Or has it been shut down? Are we witnessing the sad, deindustrialization of Boro transfer gossip?

We spent heavily in summer - the rumour I had was that we shouldn't anticipate a flurry of activity this time around.
But obviously if we need a keeper etc then we will have to act.

When I went on it was boring as fcuk.. a few guarding twitter rumours as the absolute truth. A curated summary of twitter guff.. nothing more.

That is the way I see it. Unless forced into a move I can’t see much happening.

Depending on the Conway and Lath situation we might move for a centre forward. Otherwise a keeper is the obvious one.

Basically I think there will be no moves unless we sell someone.

In an ideal world we bring in another midfielder in the Morris mould, but they aren't typically easy to find.

Other than that we have two players for every position.

GK: Dieng/Brynn - Glover a decent 3rd choice
Rb: Dijksteel/Ayling
CB: Fry/VDB/Clark/Edmondson +/- Lenihan
LB: Borges/Engel
CM: Hackney/Morris/Barlaser/Howson
Rw: Doak/Jones
Lw: McGree/Burgzorg
10: Azaz/Gilbert
9: Lath/Conway

I think Forss is the odd one out, but think he is a good squad player if he can find his fitness.

Smith is unlikely to make a difference before his contract is up in the summer - so could use his squad position to get an extra midfielder.

I suspect the only permanent signings would be if we lost a big player such as Manu in order to fund replacements.

We may bring in a loan keeper or outfield player and loan out one or to at the fringes. It will be interesting to see if Hemming is on the bench on Saturday assuming Seny is not back.

Didn't Carrick say that he expected us to improve the squad or something along those lines?

We have a gaping hole in midfield. I'd expect something to be done about that.

We play a central midfield two and have four options (two for each position).

Admittedly Morris isn't available at present but unless it's long term, I wouldn't expect a replacement.

Will be one in, one out in that position (if any movement at all) for me.

We need Haverton Good Authority back on Fmttm and posting his gems of information.
Don't need OneBoro when we have our own eyes behind the scenes.👍

I think we do need a flurry of activity tbh.

Conway injured, left with one out and out striker, regardless of if he stays or leaves.

Only two fit CMs a significant portion of the season so far.

One fit goalkeeper who was originally third choice.

One fit RB, and the LBs have been a problem all season.

No idea what the 25 man squad is looking at but I think we need at least 3 incomings this window, maybe more depending on any unwanted outgoings.

Depends on fitness but both Burgzorg and Forss are forwards and have both played through the middle at previous clubs so either of them could play in place Lath or Conway.

Forss has always been pretty good in front of goal just a real shame with injuries.

Yeah but with the size of the squad we can't replace injured players in the squad unless we sell them / loan them out. (or unless they are out for the season)

Seny Dieng had his head turned after being benched in favour of Sol Brynn an approach was made by Spurs in the summer but more recently Victor Orta has shown interest at Seville.

A loan move for Mark Travers has been looked at.. but since a further evaluation on Sol Brynn it is thought that he will be out for the rest of the season and a permanent move for Daniel Iversen is being looked into.

Matt Clarke is out of contract in the summer.. a contract extension had been turned down and enquiries have already come in from Sheffield Utd and Stoke. James Hill at Bournemouth is an option.. but is dependent on other transfers. Boro have shown an interest in West Ham’s young defender Oliver Scarles and would prefer a permanent transfer (possibly part of the Latte Lath deal) West Ham would prefer a loan move.

Anfernee Dijksteel is happy to stay and the club are working on a new deal before the month is out. Max Johnston has been identified as a possible replacement should a club come in with an offer too good to turn down.

QPR and Watford have both shown interest in Isaiah Jones with a move thought to be dependent on another transfer which is already lined up.

Latte Lath has turned down an offer to join Ipswich preferring instead a move to West Ham.. the club gave permission for his agent to speak them and talks have progressed since the injury to Jarrod Bowen.

The club have shown interest in Louis Barry.. no permanent transfer will go ahead until Latte Lath’s move to West Ham is signed off. This will not happen until later on in the month when Tommy Conway is back.

Thomas Cannon is one of the strikers we are looking at to replace Latte Lath.. Leicester will only sell the price is between £4m and £5m plus add ons.

Liverpool are looking to sell Tyler Morton this window.. boro looking to loan with an option to buy (presumably based on promotion)

Lots of moving parts in this window.. ifs ands and maybes.. all of this is completely made up too.

Daniel Iversen from Leicester?
Was saying he was leaving at the end of 23/24 on returning from his loan at Stoke, but still at Kingpower.
Been there six years and been out on loan more times than playing for Foxes.
