It's easier for South American players to get work permits than before.. Brexit.

Regular internationals for a top 50 FIFA-ranked nation guaranteed a work permit.. he's been in the match day squad for five other international games in 2024.. including against Argentina and France.

He's played 134 games in Chile's top division and his value exceeds that of many championship players.

Also.. erm.. hello girlfriend.. he totally followed boro on instagram to further confirm the move.

You can pretty much sign any foreign player you like these days. You have so many slots available for Elite Significant Contribution (ESC) players (4... I think) which we have probably 1 or 2 allocated at present.

Thanks for the response.

Re: Instagram, not sure we can read too much into that. It's not a recent follow and he follows a number of football teams (including the likes of Southampton and Everton) on there

Maybe I'm a traditionalist.. but i'd like to think that the liking of a post or a following of a social media profile is cast iron.. regardless of the timing (unless it related to Louie Barry moving to Sunderland)

But then with Latte Lath we were ready to sell him in the summer but didn't have a replacement lined up.. it's been confirmed that we've identified attacking targets.. West Ham scouts have been to watch Latte Lath.. his agent has been in talks with them.. so even without rumours or ITK knowledge it looks pretty likely that it will happen.

We're dealing with Leicester and we've been in for Tommy Cannon before.. that's not too much of a stretch.

Isaiah Jones was told he would be off to Luton way early in December.. when the club speaks of attacking targets is hard to look beyond the 21yo ex teammate of Aaron Ramsey, Cameron Archer, Morgan Rogers, Finn Azaz and Alex Gilbert..

If we were to sign him permanently.. then it would make sense to take a look at a team mate of Doak and Conway who plays at right back.. AND THEN if he is to be signed permanently.. you'd probably chance your arm and look to take a central midfielder in on loan.. maybe?

I'm not saying any of this will happen by the way.. but if a certain defender who is maybe out of contract in the summer is not featuring.. then he might be off to pasture new and could do with covering.. with a third loan spot being available.. that would allow us quite a bit of movement with a loan with an option to buy.. judging by Scott's previous transfers.. it might not be that difficult to narrow down a potential target there either.

Still.. it just depends on which way you look at it I guess.
 
I would like to see some new faces come in. It’s always exciting. But I also believe we have so many players underperforming and / or not playing. We need to be getting more from McGree, Forss, Lenihan and Morris.

They are 4 players who, when fit and in form are top tier championship players. But unfortunately due to injury we just aren’t getting enough from them at the minute.

The problem is, relying on three of those four is completely wishful thinking..
They haven't been regularly fit for 18 months, and there is no indication they will be.

Clear out the under performers if we can and bring in hungry players. Mcgree and Morris should stay.
