Its that time again.......
Welcome to a mild, damp,East Midlands [UK]
Following last nights results in the Championship the Boro sit 18th in the table. Thats a point better than Blackpool, who are currently in the third relegation spot. We are a point and 4 places below Derby County who managed a draw at West Brom last night.
Ironically, we not only play Blackpool at the weekend, but the three sides below us are Barnsley and Swansea - who have been around the top six in recent seasons - and Hull City, who were promoted from the third division last season. Fortunes can change like the wind in this league, but we need to get out of this hole as soon as possible.
Its a "big game" and nothing but a victory tonight will be good enough for us fans, the team or Neil Warnock. Every player has to step up to the plate. We will be there giving vocal support in our thousands in Nottingham - what we want is to see a balanced side, 110% commitment from the players and no excuses from Neil Warnock or anyone else.

Neil Warnock offered an update on injuries ahead of Boro’s trip to Nottingham Forest (7.45pm).
Paddy McNair pulled out of the warm-up before our match against Coventry City, and the match at the City Ground may come too soon for him.
“I doubt he will make it,” Warnock said.
“He has slight strain on the inside of his lower hamstring.
“He’s going to do a little bit today.
“I’m hoping him and Marc Bola will be on the grass but we won’t be rushing them.”
Martin Payero was another who missed out at the weekend, but Warnock hopes it won’t be too lengthy a lay-off.
“Martin had just had his best training session, and then goes and does his ankle in the last few minutes,” the Boro boss said.
“It wasn’t anything too damaging, his ankle was just bruised, but but by going over his ankle he tweaked something higher up.
“I don’t think it’s anything too long, but if it’s too soon for tomorrow I’m not sure.”
Warnock admits the injury situation can be frustrating, but is remaining upbeat.
“It can be difficult but other clubs will have problems as well, you hope that you get lucky” he said.
“I had hoped we would have a more settled team. Not having Sammy Ameobi available at all has been one of the big disappointments.
“But had he been involved, Isaiah Jones might not have had a look in.
“We just have to make sure the players who are selected are ready to give it their maximum.”

"Forest's worst start to a season for more than a century"
'A lot of problems for the manager' - Sarah Clapson's Nottingham Forest debrief after Cardiff City defeat
The Reds were beaten again in the Championship to further their concernsNottingham Forest recorded their fifth defeat in six Championship matches with a 2-1 home loss to Cardiff City.
Lewis Grabban turned home Max Lowe's drilled cross to give the Reds fans something to celebrate early in the first half, but the Reds were bombarded by attack after attack from the visitors.
Substitute Rubin Colwill pulled a goal back just 53 seconds after being thrown onto the pitch by Cardiff boss Mick McCarthy.
And the 19-year-old attacking midfielder inflicted another defeat on Nottingham Forest with his, and Cardiff's, second goal 17 minutes from full-time.
NottinghamshireLive's Forest correspondent, Sarah Clapston, gave her thoughts on a disappointing afternoon at the City Ground shortly after full-time. Here's what she said...
"Well, it finished 2-1 to Cardiff at the City Ground this Sunday afternoon. It was another miserable one on the banks of the Trent.
"That makes it Forest's worst start to a season for more than a century which is a grim statistic. They are bottom of the league table, they have just the one point to their name, and it was a woeful second half performance here today.
"The first half was better, they were okay. They had a lot to deal with from Cardiff but they coped alright in the first half; there were bodies being put on the line, defensively they looked much better than they did in the second half.
"They took the lead through Lewis Grabban 's goal, a really well taken and nice move. It was good play from Brennan Johnson and Max Lowe, a great run from Lowe who crossed it and Grabban finished it really well - that was his first goal of the season.
"Second half though there was nothing. Forest just offered nothing. They came under a lot of pressure.
"Two goals turned it around and then there was no response really. Forest were struggling to create and just looked all over the place at the back at times.
"They were sloppy, poor goals to concede and that's been the story of the season really. Scoring goals has been a problem now for a long time and that didn't really look like changing today.
"There are a lot of problems for the manager to change. He was asked today again at full-time about his future and the speculation surrounding that; his response was that he is focussing on the job at hand and he doesn't pay attention to any of the news around that.
"There is a game on Wednesday night now against Middlesbrough and it's huge in terms of the season. Forest are in a dismal position. They desperately need to get results before it starts to get away from them.
"There were some okay performances today but, for whatever reason, it just isn't clicking and they need that to happen quickly - they need the players they have to gel.
"At the minute there are players who aren't available. [Braian] Ojeda and Mohamed Drager are both self-isolating so they are not available for selection.
"Chris Hughton said there was still the possibility of a free agent but he didn't sound particularly confident of anybody coming in.
"So this is the squad he has got to work with and he's got to try and get results from them quickly. Forest can't afford to let this run continue as they are already in a difficult position and they need to get out of it fast.."

Middlesbrough sign Britt Assombalonga from Nottingham Forest
Striker costs Middlesbrough club-record £14m‘I can’t wait to meet the manager,’ says 24-year-old
Britt Assombalonga is a proven scorer in the Championship, with 30 goals in 47 league starts.
Middlesbrough have signed Britt Assombalonga from Nottingham Forest for a club-record fee. The 24-year-old, who had an injury-hit three years at the City Ground, cost £14m.
Assombalonga is a proven goalscorer in the Championship, having scored 30 times in 47 league starts since joining Forest for £5.5m in 2014. Persistent injuries have held back his progress, with a serious knee injury ruling him out for much of the 2015-16 season. He signed a new five-year deal last summer after proving his fitness.
Gary Monk has been looking to strengthen Boro’s attacking options after they scored only 27 goals in the Premier League last season. Boro claim they beat off competition from top-tier clubs to sign the striker.
“I can’t wait to meet the manager and get ready for next season. There’s a good feeling around the place. From the minute I walked in it felt right,” Assombalonga said.
“I want to thank the Forest fans for being behind me, especially after my injury. They gave me a chance in the Championship and I want to say thanks to them and wish them all the best for the season.”
A Forest spokesman said on the club’s website: “Middlesbrough outbid various other clubs to sign Britt Assombalonga. As a club we felt that since the fee agreed met the buyout clause in his contract and he wanted to move it would be wrong to stand in his way.”

Nottingham Forest v Middlesbrough 1988-89 BRENNAN RIPLEY CHAPMAN GOAL
Useful draw for Middlesbrough against one of the better sides in the Division. Mark Brennan gives Middlesbrough the lead against Nottm Forest at The City Ground only for Lee Chapmans two goals before half time to put Forest in the driving seat. Ex-Forest player and Middlesbroughs recent record signing Peter Davenport crossed from the right late on for Stuart Ripley to head an equaliser and make it 2-2 which is how it finished.

Champions of Europe [Twice]
Just a reminder that the "Champions of Europe >>>>>>>you`l never sing that" (!) will no doubt ring out tonight: a commendable achievement - back to back European Cup wins in 78 and 79. It really is over 40 years ago! Only those Forest fans around 50+ will have any memory of the two finals and the open-top bus rides, as the team paraded the cup around Nottingham.
"Old Big Head" did a remarkable job - taking a slumbering anonymous East Midlands side, who were mid-table in the old Second Division - to the heights of European football. Amazing.
